  • i'm get this concert on dvd thumbs up if you too!!

  • I keep thinking Deacon's gonna beak into A Kind of Magic...

  • Superb. Great song, great performance and so well filmed.

  • absolutely HEROES

  • I watched this concert all my youth in VHS, totally ruining the tape. I'm a big boy now, nearly 30, and still crying at the end of the show. The emotional charge in this concert is phenomenal. My favorite artists/bands paying tribute to, imo, the best frontman ever, for a great cause, with respect and humility. It's humanity at its best.

Releasing the ENTIRE concert in Bluray would be a wonderful gift for all Queen fans.

  • @NounourSOAD

i have the entire concert on VHS, im planning getting it on DVD very soon...

  • @NounourSOAD I'm glad you mentioned it - there's a video on my channel where I try to get people to sign a petition to get the whole concert released on Blu-ray Disc. If I can get enough signatures, I'll send it to Brian May or Roger Taylor and wait for their verdict.

  • i need to get myself one of them green suits

  • Bowie really puts his heart into this. I could watch it 10,000 times and still want to see it again.

  • Jakob Dylan must've told the Wallflowers he couldn't make it, so they got Bowie to sing his original song that sucks in only his special way. Greta job trying to make him sound good, Wallflowers.:-)

  • R.I.P. Freddy and Mick!

  • Bowie, half of the Ziggy-Stardust-band & Queen ... I remember the day this performance was done in Wembley. awesome!

  • Freddie died the year before I was born but I love his music a lot so I cry every time I watch this concert even though I really only got to know his music the past couple of years. I grew up on David Bowie though, thanks to my wonderful mother, and he is pretty much God to me. IF, IF IF IF!!!!! He ever dies, I honestly don't know what I'd do. I think I'd have to have a sick day and bawl in the fetal position all day long...

  • Magic :)

  • Im a huge queen fan-that was bad

  • This is david bowie song not queen song

  • 11 people are not Heroes

  • I never really liked Bowie or his alter ego Ziggy Stardust but this is a beautiful song.

  • A'int Boxie great? Sorry, have not heard him for a bit.

  • Rebecca black my hand is a dolphin moment there much about 50 seconds in...

  • 1:00 JOHN :( :(

  • it's so marvellous!!

  • what's the thing the guitarist uses to let the guitar string ring like that?

  • @thomasvangelder It's an E-Bow.

  • Sadly, this makes most young ones just sighs n say "so what"...gods, i'm old lol

  • freddie.... hero

  • <3 Mick Ronson <3

  • those ten people need heroes !

  • Not hard to tell Maye was a mess during this concert.

  • I'm not afraid to say that I cried ALOT when I saw this. a perfect song performed by perfect musicians as a perfect tribute for the world's greatest performer. wow, wow and wow again!!!

  • What it is at 0:26?

  • Mick Ronson was a Hero ;-;

  • Mick Ronson!

  • @TheHaxalot

Well, the music ain't dead yet, I totally agree with the bieber crap and lady gaga.. -.- Although listen to Lykke li or Globus. Not the same type of music, but both very artistic and interesting.

  • magic freddie was pure magic no one can even come close to him, they all can try and fail im sorry i call it as i hear it no one can ever do as good as freddie rip my friend

  • THERE'S SOMETHING NONE OF TRUE ROCK FANS WILL EVER SEE AGAIN....BOWIE, ELTON JOHN ,EURYTHMICS,GUNS N ROSES, EXTREME, METALLICA, AND COUNTLESS OTHERS ON THE SAME FUCKING STAGE ...YEAH NEVER AGAIN ! AND THAT..MAKES ME TREMENDOUSLY SAD !

  • *____* Freddie R.I.P.! <3 David Bowie, please stay alive forever <3 *__*

  • I love songs in the past than the songs in the present. I appreciate this more than the rock songs. I hate how they go dramatic with romantic love when you should not actually be today. Songs in the past mean more than the songs of the present time. I'm a 1990s kid and I want to stay in that time :(

  • such a generic statement claiming music is crap these days. justin bieber is not a fair representation of todays industry. if anything this is the period of the most diverse and intricate music in history but no-one seems to dig deep enough, it's almost like a lot of people don't want to dig deep enough and are content with having something to moan about saying how theirs were the glory years. LOOK DEEPER THAN WHAT'S IN THE CHARTS!

  • @1HOLYDIVER1, you are definately right about the incredibly diverse music that is around nowadays. The problem is though - you have to dig to find it. Songs like Heroes, etc, etc were in the charts. That's the main difference. Yes we had some crap chart music and Justin Beibers like Leif Garrett and bad, bad songs like Paloma Blanca. They were bad! As I said, the real difference is we also had the best music in the charts. I'm 48 and remember all this wonderful music well.

  • Thumbs up if you came from google searching for Freddie Mercury songs

  • @pastst did you found the song?

  • @pastst I started out searching "Delilah" by Freddie Mercury, the song about his cat on google, then I ended up here. But man I wish I could've been there!

  • the perfect song for the perfect moment

  • The drum intro by Taylor and the bassline by Deacon brings another dimension to this epic song. The best version and performance of "Heroes" ever.

  • i wish i was born in the 80s

never accept the modern kind of music, fucked up computer mixed music makes my ears cry

  • I saw this on TV and i recordered on a Video 2000 System. This Tribute was more as 6 hours and i had all of my copy. But my mother destroyed this copy. This Tribute was really a Tribute. Excellent musiceans for an excellen performer, singer and genius.

But one lonely question. Give one person which have the full concert on VHS or DVD ????

  • Mick Ronson is the man!!!

  • Freddie Mercury and his band were probably like magic to the ears; it must have been surreal seeing them live.

  • @mousers18 I was at Wembley in '86. Words can't sum it up.....

  • @vantage2000 I'm so jealous... :P

  • u re always on my mind and soul....love u freedie and queen...from malaysia with love

  • David Bowie is God, Freddy Mercury his prophet. ;)

  • It's like God honouring his son. ;/

  • 10 people are obviously villains, not heroes.

  • @TheHaxalot it is our duty to make sure the younger genrations will have the same feelings we do when we hear it. i love music and i check out the new stuff. you have to met them half way. i love emeniem, you have to be willing to check new stuff out to, you might find something you like. i can appreciate all sorts of music. as a singer myself i check out newer stuff. queen songs are featured in the rock band game. music bridges gaps, fills in spaces words can't. rock on!!

  • i love yhat song... and a perfect choice to tribute freddie!!

  • I love Queen, and i love Bowie! But i also love Lady Gaga, The Beatles, AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Bring me The Horizon!

Just because you love one artist you don't have to hate another!

Peace and love! Just peace and love...

  • @TheHaxalot gaga ain't that bad (she called hereself lady gaga because of radio gaga)and most beautifull music isn't dead, bieber is only important in youtube, few years later people won't remember him

  • Vale vale hermano

  • super

  • the power of the end of this song is unbelievable

  • how can anyone dislike this type of amazing music, especially a tribute concert of one of the greatest artist of all time???

  • @TheHaxalot lady gaga actually has talent dnt hate on her and rock isnt dead there is still awsum rock n roll out u just hav 2 look harder

  • I am convinced that they can do all the Live Aids they want... and all the tribute songs like We Are The World 25.. but nothing can ever live up to this concert.

I wish I had been alive to have seen this concert..

    THIS. This, is truly epic.

  • amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing

    rock at its finest.

  • is that Eddie Money playing lead guitar!? I know it isnt but man he looks like him..

  • @fallsnative I think it's the late Mick Ronson.

  • @fallsnative Thats the late great Mick Ronson, Bowie's guitarist from his early years as Ziggy Stardust

  • God, Bowie looks good here.

  • There really is good accessable modern music out there. I did not expect to find my favorite band in my 40s, but Arcade Fire are for me the best live act i have seen and belive me i've sen a lot !

  • I want an ebow now

  • @TheHaxalot

Sorry, my friend, but maybe the answer was writen by yourself: music industry.

First was the music, later music industry apeared and now we have just industry without any kind of music.

Sorry for my pesimistic opinion but I agree absolutely and I was born fifty years ago.

  • freddie mercury should be standing at the front not that guy

  • @krazyk1d26 Not that guy?? Go use google or wikipedia or whatever young guy tool you got and look up David Bowie. Like Freddy (and more so) one of the greatest influences in music.

  • damn that guitar is amazing

    RIP Freddie and Mick

  • @TheHaxalot Well the sad thing is you look at this stuff on youtube and it gets a few thousand hits and and all the other crap gets 40 million hits. The world has gone crazy.

  • "wow" it's the only word i can write here

  • Ronno R.I.P. Thanks for your wonderful music

  • @TheHaxalot There is less grounds to break now, but good music is still made. Instead of complaning about the state of music today, you should be happy that you can enjoy the old heroes while experiencing some of the new artists that do make great music.

(On another note; Lady Gaga is not that far from Bowie actually, being a very visual artist with a good sense of pop melodies. And no! I am not saying Lady Gaga is as good as Bowie or is the Bowie of our time. She is talented though).

  • watched the dvd the other day for 1st time in ages, and this was the best non queen song performed, the start when mick and roger set up the song just gets me all the time!

  • @TheHaxalot i don't totaly agree whit u on lady gaga, but what is worst(in Romania)cause thats where i am from is that all the good music from todays artists is not being played at the radio.Almost all the radio stations in my country play the shitiest house music from the shitiest DJs.I think there are good artists today and personally i think lady gaga is one of them, but everybody wants to listen to house music which is worst than watching Twilight but thats how it is.

  • This is by far my favorite version of this song

  • @TheHaxalot - There was PLENTY of crap back then too...which was a huge part of what made stuff like David Bowie so great in the first place. A real songwriter and personality among a bunch of tasteless, middle of the road crap will stick out like a sore thumb.

  • Breaks my heart to see Mick Ronson not too long before he died....He was amazing. He and Freddie were two huge losses for music. Miss them both.

  • someone tell me what is he holding right in the beggining...

    the guitarrist. PLEASE ANSWER

  • @PortugalFreaks - He is using an E-Bow (makes the strings sustain when you hold it above them, kind of like bowing an orchestral string instrument). It was probably the most practical way for him to mimic what Robert Fripp did on the studio version of the song.

  • @PortugalFreaks ITS AN EBOW IT MAKES THIS STRINGS VIBRATE

  • This DVD is full of exceptional talents! That was and is music!!!

If you have the chance, buy this DVD you'll not regret it!

  • hi, thehaxalot, i agree with you......

  • @TheHaxalot Amen to that!

  • What if David Bowie had the opportunity to make a full album with Queen ?

It would have changed Music's History !

  • david bowie and queen it so beatifully song. thanks Freddie.

  • hot tramp! i love you sooo! and panic in detroit, just a couple of my favorites. and wasn't it bavid bowie who said, " this aint rock and roll, this is genacide!! on the diamond dogs album!!

  • @TheHaxalot if u find out, let me know ok!

  • Remembering Mick Ronson today: May 26th, 1946 – April 29th, 1993

  • Big names singing there: David Bowie, Elton John, George Michael, Guns 'n' Roses.. a long list.. Yet they don't compensate one Freddie Mercury.. How great a loss it is for music :(

  • I thought that was Rick Astley. lol

  • @WormYourHonor64 at first I started searching for my gun and your personal information and then I realized you had a point. Now I'm kinda depressed.

  • @TomSpitzy Sorry...

  • @TomSpitzy Yeah, he's a great singer, love his music, just seriously thought he looked like RA.

  • Mick Ronson era el puto amo... Que grande Dios...

  • no date??? when was this?

  • @sornostrasse this was at April 20 1992, at London's Wembley Stadium on the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert

  • God, John's bass playing is so good. I miss him so much!

    They're all awesome

  • whats wrong with Bowie's eyes?? one is blue and the other black?

  • @manimoto2010 When he was a kid he got into a fight.

  • @manimoto2010

Bowie was born with blueish eyes. In 1962, he got into a fight with his longtime school friend George Underwood (over George's girlfriend), and a punch from Underwood damaged Bowie's left eye. His pupil was paralyzed, becoming unable to dilate or contract according to the ambient light.

As a result, Bowie's left eye now appears to be a different colour to his right eye, appearing either brown or green depending on the ambient light.

  • Stunning - pure and absolute magic

  • Love Johns bass playing .. come back John

  • So much awesomeness on one stage, how did the universe not explode?

John Deacon gives it such a Queen feel so effortlessly.

  • 500 characters cannot possibly contain the love I am feeling right now.

  • Bowie great!!

  • How is it that there are seven eejits who "dislike" this? What's not to like?

    Sheesh.

  • Bowie, what a presence.

  • Last time I saw Bowie live was the Serious Moonlight Tour , with Earl Slick on guitar.

Stevie Ray Vaughan played on Let's Dance but passed on the tour to cut Texas Flood.

  • Poor Mick Ronson...his final performance, seen by millions, alongside his old colleague.

  • Its a real shame you cant buy this concert - There is a DVD, but its only the second half (Queen performing with the others) - But the first part was still great - Guns & Roses, Extreme, Paul Young desperately (and failing it has to be said ) to match anywhere close to Freddies pitch. A class concert. 19 years old now....god thats depressing lol

  • Hands down, the best part of the concert. Was a magical day. First concert I ever went to, and still the best.

  • solid bowie

  • Been looking for footage forever. Thanks so much!

  • witnessing true musicanship!

  • Absolutely brilliant! One of the best Bowie songs, the best of the Berlin period.

  • Bowie is AMAZING!!!

  • I miss freddie...

  • The best version!!!

  • @brunus: it's E-bow. A magnetic bow for guitar, used to make guitar souds like violn or cello, making the notes playing for infinite time.

  • @SuperMattley - Interesting comment about 'Sounds like violin or cello' because Mick Ronson wanted first to be a cello player, but it's a big intrument for a little kid, so they gave him a violin first....THEN he heard Duane Eddy, and it was GEEEE-TAR, here I come! RIP Mick.

  • What's that? 0:13?

  • @brunus96 it's an ebow..... pretty cool huh..

  • Fabulous!!! David Bowie is cooooooooooooooooooooooooool :)

  • An absolutely sensational version of Heroes!! I listen to it almost daily, it truly is inspirational!!

  • God bless you freddie , a great man taken to soon,, we will always love and remember you always ,

  • You know, if there were ever a time to start out "I will be king; you will be Queen"... this would be it.

  • Mick Ronson is a LEGEND. The end.

  • and im not gay

  • Every day i am hero Like all of us

  • Mick's last live performance, God bless him.

  • I was at this concert. As a teenager, I didn't really appreciate how momentous this performance was at the time, but have come to appreciate it so much more over time.

  • @chaffonline

Agreed, so much - Was my first ever concert - I was 19, and thought all concerts were this magical....they wernt. Still the best concert I ever went to, and Bowie was the absolute highlight for me :-) Just didnt realise how massive this was at the time.

  • Good to see Queen plaing with a proper guitarist. :)

  • @arrozconchoros mick ronson playing a fender usa '60s reissue telecaster(?) in lake placid blue and using an e-bow for the sustain

  • what´s the name of this craft in the guitar?

  • Bowie...bad asss shit

  • GOD

  • So great Mick ronson !!!!! RIP...........

  • Mick Ronson with Bowie, just great.

I'm from Hull and once there was a memorial stage built in his honour in Hull, dont know if it is sill there but there should have been a fucking great 20 foot bronze statute of him in the town centre in the act of strumming that Les Paul Black Beauty. The late great Mick Ronson

  • Queen show their phenomenal talent. Amazing performances by John on bass, Roger on drums and Brian on guitar.

  • Happy birthday Freddie. We all miss you very much x)

  • Anyone kno what that black thing Mick Ronson was using during the beginning riff?

  • @CourierSeraphim it's called an e-bow, it's kind of a big magnets that interacts with the pick-ups in a way. Google will give you a much better description than me

  • Best ever concert

  • 6 people need new ears.

  • i can't believe Mick died only a couple of years after this.

  • @SuperOxideDimutase - Mick died exactly a year after this concert. On April 29th, 1993...what a sad loss. If you compare how Mick looked in say, 1990, he is really thin and wasting away here, but "boy, could he play guitar...."

  • @rocktenniscat Love the Ziggy reference my good friend!

  • Awesome line up!Can't believe it's been that long ago. Besides Concert For New York version by Bowie, plus the truly heartfelt emotion in each, Has to be my two faves. John D. is KILLER on bassline, Mick Ronson....no need....it's all been said. All of those Legends there for Freddie.....Just Magnificent! R.I.P. Freddie....R.I.P. Mick.

  • I remember I was stunned to see this on MTV when it aired in the early 90`s. Mick Ronson E-bowing his telecaster getting a killer crying sound that ran with emotion and fit the mood perfectly. This whole concert was one of the greatest moments in rock history. Long live Freddie Mercury and Mick Ronson.

  • the BEST interpretation of heroes ever. it sounds like the guitars weep because of freddie's death.

  • RIP freddie and mick

btw can anyone tell me what is the device that mick ronson is using at 0:17 and what is it used for?,plz help

  • @CYBERDUDE95

    It's called an "e-bow"

  • Wow what a crowd! I have seen many songs from this concert, and they are all great!

I really wish with all my heart that Freddie would still be with us,and he was and is loved by so many people. He truly was the greatest singer in the world.R.I.P Freddie!

  • ronson is the guy!

  • I love it when David Bowie sings : "Like dolphons can swim", and Brian May is like: "Yeah man, totally agree".
