  • Great vid. Thanks.

  • That is my life right there. I have a persian too. I think this is how the majority of them act.

  • @HubertGeorge oh dear, you too?! I really wonder if most of them are like that. From what I hear is that it´s about 50:50....

  • @vonfluffenstein it seems I'm one of the lucky ones then. Don't get me wrong, she WILL start to meow if it takes to long, and sometimes (very rare) she will try to have a nip at the comb, but that's about it. At this moment I'm gently removing all of her mats (we didn't have any time to brush her everyday due to the move) and I do this in short periods (15 minutes) every 3 hours or so. I'm halfway, and in about a week she will completely mat free.

  • @vonfluffenstein oh and the reason why I take my time with her is because she has an extremely flat face (flatter than Janelle's), and when she gets nervous she tends to get out of oxygen. So short periods is at this stage (dematting) the best option for her health. When that's completely done, a daily groom of maximum 20-30 minutes is more than enough to keep her fur impeccable and without mats.

  • Way too high maintenance!

  • @MsJCBurke Tell me about it! If her human mummy had not died, I would have never even considered getting a persian cat! But she soooo grew on me and I love her very much (sadly, I had to rehome her with my best friend because after 1 1/2 yrs it simply wouldn´t work out between her and my tabby (boss!) boy Lugosi who beat her up every single day and she was just living in fear of him....)

  • My cat loves when she is being brushed :P

  • @SophiaKerchoula my short-haired kitties also LOVE it! But Janelle, who is the only one who *needs* it, does not... ;)

  • AHhh! Your cat is super cool and SUPER CUTE!

  • @bjornjj83 thank you :D

  • That's perfectly normal! My cat bites and growls and claws at me all the time. He's a persian too.

  • I think amarige25 is an idiot for thinking this is abuse, or worthy of calling the Humane Society over. I have seen cats in the Humane society that are in horrible shape, fur wise. Should she just let the fur get matted so the cat wouldn't be able to clean herself properly?? My persian does the exact same thing. I was looking at your videos for tricks to shave her, since she is so horrible to groomers that I was told she is not allowed back there. I think I will have to try sedation grooming.

  • @drock920 well, I wouldn´t want to call anyone an idiot so quickly, but you really do have to know the full story and I was trying to get that across to her....

Sorry, I don´t really have tricks for grooming either - I strongly believe that some cats just ARE (born?) like this, or maybe some cats have ultra-sensitive skin just like some humans have, who knows. :)

Good luck with you and your cat - do try sedation next time, it works for us. :)

  • @vonfluffenstein You're right, not an idiot, that's rude, its more that her line of thinking is somewhat absurd. The cat is abusing you more than anything!

  • I'm glad you no longer have that cat. Imagine getting beat up by a housemate and then beat up by u when u comb her hair. That is not the proper way to comb a cat with matted hair. It is a trick and a skill you have to learn because you are abusing the animal when u do things such as this on the video. This video shows u don't have a good relationship with that cat. Hopefully, u don't do the other one like that. If u do, then stop.

  • @amarige25 And what do you know about grooming Persian cats? Besides, she doesn´t have mats in her hair, just a few little ones on the insides of her legs. Please read the video description. And what do you mean by "u don´t do the other one like that"? You got me confused now, sorry, please explain....

  • @vonfluffenstein I have a longhaired cat and I had a Maine Coon. Their coats are rugged and challenging to comb. What you don't know is body language. This is cruel and you need to take this video down. I should report you to the Humane Society. What if we tied you down and combed your hair like that. Would you like it? Throw away that metal comb and get a plastic flexible one.

  • @amarige25 Did u actually *read* the video description? It´s a *special* comb for Persian cats with rotating spokes. It´s from a vets practice. Maine Coons and other longhaired cats do NOT have the same thickness of fur as Persians, whose fur is rather unique. Please do your research on that before u come down on me so strong. I doubt the Humane Society would do anything because (a) I am not in the U.S. + (b) cause it might look a bit harsh in the video, but it´s not cruelty.

  • @vonfluffenstein Yes. The comb is so good that you have to use a special glove to protect yourself from the cat trying to defend itself. You've been warned and educated. If I were you I would take a little constructive criticism especially since you've put yourself out there for people to judge you by posting this video. I hope others don't look at this video and think this is how you are supposed to groom a cat because they would be taking bad advice from you.

  • @amarige25 You can´t see the whole picture here. If you knew Nelly, you would know that even if you touched her in most places (not brushing, just *touching* lightly) except for the head, she growls and doesn´t like to be touched. She was like that before I got her from a lady that had died, and that lady had exactly the same problems with her. I can only guess she was never taught properly when she was a kitten....

  • @vonfluffenstein With that in mind, I will cut you some slack since you inherited the problem. Cats who are not well socialized meaning allowed to interact with different people and animals will act like this. So unfortunate. I will say you were reinforcing her fear of people with the combing. But you were trying to help, so I'll let it go.

  • @amarige25 Thanks. I do appreciate your concerns and input. But like I said, without seeing the full picture it's difficult to understand Nelly's dilemma. Her new owner is doing a great job with her and is being very patient and grooming Nelly only when in a mellow mood to begin with (which I used to do too), and once she starts freaking out she stops and does the next bit of fur later, or the next day, which is much less agony for the cat AND owner! :)

  • LOL...my cat is the same when I brush her

  • 1:58 Falcon Kick!!!

  • 1:16 watching over and over again... LOVE YOUR CAT

  • @toxicjz Hehe, thanks. Sadly, she´s not my cat anymore but lives with my best friend now, because one of my other cats, bullyboy Lugosi, kept really beating her up badly almost every day. I still visit her often though, she only lives 15 mins away, and I still do new vids of her too. :)

  • hahah little nelly is grumpy !

  • We are going to be breeding them. They came to us from all over the world. We will teach them about grooming from the start so hopefully none of them will be biters. I laugh every time I watch this video! It's my life lol!

  • You are welcome! I do this daily with eight of them! One of them actually sleeps while he is getting combed. Then on the other end of the scale are the growlers and biters. Either way it has to be done or they must be shaved.

  • @MsGadgetJunkie 8 cats?! Woah. It´s so funny how they are all different. I love it. They´re just like us really, every one their own little character/personality. :)

  • Nope - this is how it is done. Uncombed Persian cats can develop marts which can stick to the skin and become infected. If they are done every day it is quick and easy. This is being done correctly and is not hurting her. She just doesn't like it.

  • @MsGadgetJunkie Thanks for your support. :) She definitely just doesnt´like it! ;)

  • There must be another way to do that, which won't be so upsetting to the cat. A bigger brush to take care of a wider area? Something???

  • lmao its so cute and funny at the same time but ive never seen a cat that hates being groomed that much. hahaha your doing a good job but she really is a handful LOL I love how you kiss her head even though shes being a grumpy girl. too cute

  • Poor cat, must be tough in the summer with such a thick coat .... how do you do in the summer ? to you give him a haircut?

  • @angela3017 Yes, we shave her twice a year.... it gets to about 40C here, so she is very happy with short fur (she looks like a little lion then!).

Do a youtube search for "shaved pussy janelle" (heheh!) which is a video of her getting shaved at the vets and you´ll see her what she looks after - I warn you though: it´s a bit of a shock! She´s sooo tiny!!! :D

  • Her coat is so pretty! My Persian is almost exactly the same, but less claws and more noise

  • Maybe comb a little bit every day rather than everything in one session.

  • @cameltoe4565 Good idea. Her new mummy (my best friend) is doing that and it seems to work little by little... (had to give Janelle away because my boy Lugosi was making her life hell every single day, he hated her - she is extremely happy living at my friend´s house now, in peace, and I can still visit her too).

  • Be careful you don't get bit. Mine bit me and it got infected. I'm getting a glove - good idea!

  • That cat is NOT ugly!! I love those smooshed faces. I have 2 & my youngest one is EXACTLY like this cat when it comes to being brushed. It literally takes 2 of us to brush her b/c she kicks & scratches & hisses. But she's so cute that it only makes me laugh... and then I feel like a bitch for laughing at her. We've had to shave Sasha twice b/c she puts up such a fight. We managed to avoid shaving her the last couple of years but like I said, it takes 2 people to get the job done.

  • You never brush a persian cat like that!

  • @mansourboudehane *you* are welcome to try a different way of brushing (if you can hold her at the same time with only one hand)

  • Aww... I love it when she makes that noise. XD

  • My persian is exactly the same. I have so many scares on my arms lol...but we put up with it because they are so lovely and worth it...

  • @DRC327 Oh yes, they are definitely worth it! :)

  • What a beutiful cat

  • I would smack the cat

  • @merylstreep2010 I would smack *you*

  • ewww dat cate is ugly not 2 be mean...

  • My cross persian does that too. I shall try brushing him with a glove too hahaha.

  • what a cutie

  • awww, she really doesn't like that!!

  • Such a big baby like my cat.

  • thats so cute!!! haha :) my cat loooooves being brushed. she hates getting her claws trimmed though, she acts like we're killing her xD

  • Scruffing my cats helps me controll them when they get a little antsy or upset. Causes them to stop reacting all together. Though, you have to learn how to do it properly.

  • the best pets are the ones that recognize and respect their masters. put that cat in check. no joke. my cat knows not to ever try to bite me.

  • @bruthabong Masters? What the hell are you talking about? *Dogs* have masters. Cats have *servants*, i.e. their human.

  • i like your feet...

  • @insidius87 *my* feet? Or Janelle´s feet? ;)

  • @vonfluffenstein janelle's feet of course LOL

  • @insidius87 hehe. If you´d said "paws" instead of "feet" I would have known straight away. ;)

  • @vonfluffenstein anyway i meant YOUR feet))) you have them just in front of the screen..... great

  • @insidius87 Ah! That´s my BACK PAWS! LOL

  • @vonfluffenstein well whatever you call it, it's a good one))))

  • @insidius87 ;)

  • @vonfluffenstein no i mean the woman's feet on the screen, i don't know which one is janelle...

  • Cats are too funny.

  • KIITTTTYYYY!!!!!

  • Poor Janelle

  • She looks like she is not a small cat, either. I am glad and very lucky my 23 pound cat is so sweet. Both my cats are like teddy bears, so when they hiss or growl it takes me a minute to remember what the sound is!

  • @thorild69 oh, but you´re wrong! She is *tiny* under all that fur, she only weighs around 3 kilos (I think that´s about 7 pounds). She´s a little lightweight. :)

  • i admire your determination on grooming her even if she doesnt like to be groomed. ^_^

  • you are so patient with her :) this made me lol because cats can be SO MEAN!! I have one too - a fluff head. You seem like a great owner though!

  • Uhhh you don't brush cats with a comb, its painful for them! Use big brush specially made for cats, its more gentle. Comb just rips the fur out, of course Janelle won't be happy...

  • @laskovaiakoshechka pls read the video description....

  • AH, we are facing the same with our persian cat... he hates to be brushed so bad that now he is suffering from severe hair matting that developed just in 2 weeks of non-brushing... he is sooo musch going to get shaved tomorrow... hair matting is the worse ever as it can cause the cat's skin to get infected :( thank you for posting :)

  • @dazdoz glad the vid is of help to you. Sometimes it´s the only way you can deal with the problem. It´s such a shame to shave off all that gorgeous fur, but in Janelle´s case, she didn´t have to go through the "brush torture" every day for at least a few months, and she seemed to be very happy and more active with all that fur off too. :)

Don´t know if you have seen the video, but if you search for "shaved pussy janelle" (sorry, haha!), it´s a video of the groomer shaving her (under sedation)

  • @vonfluffenstein :D i had already shaved my cat before in the past 4 years (the lion hair cut :D) but it took tooo long for it to grow back again, that's why i hate taking him to get shaved :'( and once while i was brushing him, i found a piece of matted hair, so i decided to cut off myself and of course i cut off a piece of his skin (a 4 stitches cut) :'( ever since i made a promise not to cut his hair nor to shave him ever, but now i had to :'( bye bye long beatiful hair..

  • @polishfinn Oh yeah, she hates it so much! We now get her shaved every six months - also, it´s nicer for her during our really hot summers (35-40C) here....

  • press 2, thats so 'im gonna poo on yo carpet after we're done with this' look

  • @Soka313 hehehe, so right. She didn´t do it though, cause she´s a good girl. ;)

  • Oh, and the brush I recommend is the JW Pet Slicker. It got my Maine coon mix to tolerate brushing more.

  • @Chargal4 thanks for the tip, but Maine Coone fur is very different from Persian fur. They might both look longhaired and fluffy, but Persians have a double coat, with the thickest underfur - which is what is the problem! ;)

  • @vonfluffenstein Actually, so do Maine Coons. I think Persians have two doublecoats. Still, it might be worth a try.

  • @Chargal4 already did - the slicker brush is actually the one she *likes*! But the only way to get into the undercoat and get the mats out of there is with the special comb with rotating spokes that I have (specially designed for persians). However, touch her under the arms and inside of the legs and it´s mayhem! ;)

  • My childhood cat only growled like that at the vet... We swore he was howling in tongues!

  • lol...that is how my cat sounds and acts when I cut her nails.

  • lol i remember when i was brushing my persian :) same thing but belly part was harder for me.

  • @Vonfluffenstein: lol, I have a Persian baby too! He HATES grooming! I think ven more than Janelle... I use gloves too but I've got face-scratches!!!!! He has a big amount of hair but not even a bit amount if good attitude!!!!! But I'll do everything necessary to keep him ok!! Imma 13 year old PERSIAN cat lover!!! By the way, janelle is beautiful!

  • @MaoOutlak: if u only knew the work that takes to brush a Persian cat that hares grooming then you will not be argueing against Janelles owner that does an exelent work!!!! So shut up

  • @MrCosashow haha, thanks for the support there! :)

  • "i am being gentle" my ass you almost skin out the poor cat... geez lady do it with care; no wonder the damn cat hates it.

  • @MaoOutlack it only "looks" like I´m not being gentle because it´s only a demonstration video and I´m doing it quickly and not actually really brushing her properly. Janelle is now living with my best friend because she didn´t get on with my boy Lugosi (1 1/2 years of constant fighting!) and we now brush Janelle together, one holding her, the other brushing her, which seems to work okay... until we get to her belly and leg bits!!!

  • @vonfluffenstein oh wow you gave this kitty away? she seems to be gentle, was your other cat violent or something?

  • @masterace088 don´t get me wrong, it was the hardest decision ever in my life to give her away! But she was just living in fear every single day with Lugosi, the bully boy, beating her up every opportunity. And she never really fought back either, just defended herself a bit. She was just so scared all the time living here, and when I met my new friend Anneke it was 100% that she would be happy at her place, and she IS so happy now! I visit her very often still.... :)

  • @vonfluffenstein why didn't you give away the bully cat instead? She reminds me of my persian cat that passed away 2 years ago :( I still miss him very much... persians are very special cats

  • @masterace088 aww well, Lugosi (the "alpha male"/boss cat) has been with me since he was a kitten of 8 months, and I even brought him and his brother Spider over from England all the way to the Canary Islands with me in 2004. I could not possibly give him away without also giving his brother away with him - they are a "unit", they can´t be separated. I had Janelle only for 2yrs and she has always been the "outsider" in our home unfortunately (even though not within my heart!) .... cont....

  • @masterace088 ...cont... she IS a very special cat, and I will miss her in my home forever, but when I see her at my friend´s house now.... she is soooo happy and content there - it´s not what *I* feel that´s important, it´s what Janelle feels that is. I had to make a hard decision, hard for me, but better for Janelle.... :)

  • @MaoOutlack Fuck off MaoOutlack. No one likes you. So get a life, okay? Thanks! =D

  • Brushing longhaired cats must be a choir, especially if they don't like being brushed at all.

We don't have longhaired cats here, mostly due to my allergy and also due to the fact that longhaired cats drop more hair then a shorthair cat.

We have what we call "bond katter" here, they're just ordinary cats with no long fur coat, but they're still just as beautiful as any cat breed. :)

  • @Karekristensson Yes, ALL cats are beautiful, no matter if pedigree or not... :)

  • @vonfluffenstein One of our cats possibly have a half Scottish Fold gene, her right ear is folded forward like a Scottish Fold's ear.

  • @Karekristensson hmmm, or it could simply be a birth defect. :)

  • @vonfluffenstein Who knows? One of her daughters actually got the same, only it was on her left ear.

  • @Karekristensson how weird! LOL

  • @vonfluffenstein Yes, very weird indeed. XD

  • Brush with not against the grain.

  • @TheronSax If you know Persians you know that you won´t get the deeper knots out simply brushing with the grain...

  • Of course she hates this. I can't understand breeding for looks.

  • haha at the end, lovin those leg movements!

  • Lol, she looks like a small lynx just with bigger fur! XD

  • @Lifeofbass hehe, most people say she´s a mini-lion!

  • My mom's persian is exactly like this. You have to use these combs to remove knots and trimming the hair is the easiest on the cat, especially under the arms where knots are plentiful. This owner is very nice to her kitty and gentle. The way this cat acts is exactly like my mom's, as I get to brush her since I work with animals.

  • he wuz hissing n bittin u cuz u wer brushin his fur in all different directions, dah..

  • @MssKimberly First of all Janelle is a *she* and second, you *have to* brush it in different directions to get to the knots.

  • @vonfluffenstein it sill hurt her, and wen i was watching tha vid. my bros and mom came over and was horified at the vid, its way too painful for her!!! and you yelled at him, u are mean, not her

  • @vonfluffenstein it sill hurt her, and wen i was watching tha vid. my bros and mom came over and was horified at the vid, its way too painful for her!!! and you yelled at him, u are mean, not her.

  • Have you tried a brush instead? My cats hate the combs doesn't matter what type but they love two brushes and while they are for humans I have a vent brush (Bristles being spaced apart) And one with lots of bristles that they prefer. Pet brushes and combs are too hard and it hurts the cat or dog can even cut their skin, might be why she is hurting. Ask the vet, because normally petting a cat is NOT supposed to hurt them, there could be other problems too she's trying to tell you about.

  • @Skydancer1971 Yes, tried it and she´s the same wtih any kind of brush. She simply hates it. As for trying to tell us about something.... well, she´s just a Diva, and she´s always been like that, and even touching her tail elicits a growl. ;) She is a very healthy and happy cat otherwise, just look at some of the other vids of her. :)

  • @vonfluffenstein I did she is a ill tempered girl, over that comb oh and I noticed that you didn't clean the comb when it got fur on it. Mine get pissy when I don't pause to get the fur out either just some tips. I got stuck with so many cats my sister abandon and I work with rehabbing abused and neglected animals so I've learned several tricks with them. Best of luck to you and her!

  • @Skydancer1971 thanks for the tips, I do appreciate it. I didn´t clean the comb (which is a special comb with rotating spokes specially for longhaired cats) because this is just a quick demonstration. The proper grooming session takes a bit more time because we do things much more slowly....

  • i like you more than janelle.

  • @guntrano hehe, thanks! ;)

  • She is sooooo cute :)

  • The cat is in pain, and you laugh? How can you do that to her? She is big pain!

  • @gentlehouse I´m not laughing, I´m trying to distract her from being in pain!!! Anyways, we shave her every 6 months now - she looks strange and funny, but it´s best for her, and she seems to love being "nekkid". :)

  • @gentlehouse she would be in more pain if you let her get matts in her coat that would pull on her skin and get infected!!!

  • My himalayan boy cat hates being brush. I have to take him to the groomer once a month to be brushed. I'm planning to give him a lion cut this spring. My girl himalayan cat doesn't mind it though. she's usually not matted too.

  • looks like her pussy does not like being cleaned!!!

  • Wouldn't it be possible to let her grow fur and comb her like maybe twice or thrice a day because it would be easier for her to have her fur combed as it wouldn't be tangled that much then?

  • @Salamandra84 that would be twice or thrice a day more "torture" for Janelle.... and she doesn´t mat that quickly, every couple of days is okay.

  • @vonfluffenstein I thought that if she was being combed while not having very tangled fur, she'd be much milder while your doing this to her because it wouldn't be uncomfortable for her that much. I thought then it wouldn't be taht unpleasant of an experience.

  • @Salamandra84 I appreciate your thoughts. :) But it´s all been tried and tested and it failed with Nelly. Treats, Feliway, combing her only while she´s sleepy etc. etc.

We shave her every 6 months now and Nelly seems to love all that weight off her, she´s a lot more active when she has less fur!

  • Having been bitten a few times by my own cats, I was wincing every time she bit you. Ouch.

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk well, that´s what the big glove is for! She doesn´t normally bite, thanks goodness, just during the grooming! ;)

  • @MyPaperBleedsInk And talking about biting, I have 3 cats (Janelle lives with my best friend now because even after 2 years she still didn´t get on with one of my boys, Lugosi) - Ruby, Lugosi and Spider, and Lugosi & Spider don´t bite, but Ruby is a right little biter! I tried to teach her not to, but everything I did (like blowing air in her face while biting me) didn´t work. She just sees it as part of the game. She also likes to play very rough with Spider and Lugosi and bites them...

  • did the cat closed the camera or its just me? o_O

  • try to brush your own ass... THIS ONE will be funny ...

  • @Krzysiek1218 I don´t have my own ass.... I only have cats. Unless you meant "arse" of course.

  • @vonfluffenstein

what if you buy a set of brushes that are softer at the beginning and harder later, when the fur is already easier to brush? Also, try taking breaks and not keep the cat in "stress" for so many minutes in a row..perhaps a little treat will do good, or just caress for a few seconds. our cat hates shower and when it comes to brushing, it runs away, but if we do breaks while brushing, it works. :) good luck!

  • @adinaelenad there´s really only one brush/comb you need for this (and a slicker brush of course), and that´s the detangling comb with rotating spokes which is specially for longhaired cats. Takings breaks, yes, doing that anyway (just not in this video, but it´s just a demonstration anyway, not a full brushing sesh). Treats don´t work, she still goes mad. Tried it all - we now shave her every 6 months and she seems to love all that weight off her body! :)

  • THE CAT IS GONNA KILLING ITSELF THUMBS UP

  • I wanted to buy a Persian cat also but now I saw how difficult it is to take care of her. I don't know if I am going to buy one after I've saw some of your videos. It's just to hard.

I already have 4 cats and 2 dogs but they don't need brushing because they don't have long fur. I don't know if I could handle with a Persian cat.

You are doing a great job. Good luck

  • @OanaOaniii Hey there, thanks for your comment.

Thing is, I don´t know why Janelle is like this. I can only speculate that she wasn´t groomed properly as a kitten and grew up hating grooming sessions. However, most persians are easy and *love* being brushed. You would simply have to make sure you choose a persian kitten/cat that is used to being brushed and not mind.... well, good luck! :)

  • @vonfluffenstein : Thank you very much for answering me. I will have to think and decide if I will buy one or not. I will follow your advice. Thank you!

  • @OanaOaniii Persians are more hard work than ordinary cats because of the grooming, but they are oh soooo sweet and loving, and their purrsonality is just the most precious. Janelle is definitely sooo worth it. :)

  • @OanaOaniii My persian loves being groomed c:

  • Comment removed

  • My cat does the same thing! He is a purebread tabby persian and he growls like that when he's groomed

  • I have 16 cats. The long hair ones get shaved when it is warm out. Right before winter they get their last shave. When it is growing out they get a daily combing. They are so use to it that they seem go enjoy it. They were strays found as kittens. All my cats are rescued except for my Bengal that was a gift.

  • she is cute and beautiful :)

maybe you should hold the fur you brush, so that you won't pull in her fur, cause that might hurt her, like it hurts if we brush our curly morning hair without holding it while we brush it out. You get what I am trying to say right? :)

  • @Piratkaptajn1 yeah, I get you. Thanks for that thought. :) Of course, it´s impossible to hold *her* as well as holding the fur while brushing so not to pull the skin.... Sadly, I´m only one person alone, and you really need two people to do this. However, Janelle now lives with my best friend (Janelle kept being beaten up by one of my other cats and lived in total fear of him!), and when I´m over we do the brushing together, which seems to work quite well, and Janelle isn´t too bad. :)

  • Thanks for your reply and I just watched her getting shaved video. Definitely getting my cat shaved this Spring. This was the final kick I needed :)

  • is her name Nelly or Lilly

  • @symplynicky It´s Janelle or Nelly... :)

  • @vonfluffenstein aww such a cute name

  • reminds me of a cute gremlin =D

  • what if you brush him before you feed hier and she then knows she'll get to eat after she's brushed? I like how you're talking to her while you do it. I think that helps. She is lucky that someone is so patient in combing her.

  • @chalkiemoo thanks for the tip, but I´ve alread tried that and all other things that can possibly be tried...

Janelle now lives with my best friend because she one of my other cats (Lugosi, big boss tom cat) just beat her up all the time for 2 1/2 years, and it was better for Janelle to live there, where she is totally happy, and my friend looks after Janelle with the same patience and love... :)

  • she reminded me of a possessed 2 year old XD

  • @way2weird0 haha yeah, possessed alright! ;)

  • Hi,

I understand exactly what you are going through having tried different combs and brushes. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions. I have two cats and one of them happens to have long hair and does NOT like to be brushed and protests just like your Nelly :) I recently have considered getting him shaved. Have you ever done that with your cat? I am tired of having to vacuum the house and couches every other day! My concern is the sound of the shaver will freak him out as well!

  • @lucky51802 yes, shaving her turned out the best option for Nelly. She seems sooo happy & more active/lively without the weight of all that fur on her, it´s like her running around shouting "lookatmemommy, i´m nekkid!". :)

Search for "shaved pussy janelle" (hehe, had to be done) here on youtube and you´ll find the video of the groomer at our vet practice shaving her. And it´s done with sedation. Nelly would also never have allowed it otherwise!

  • Awww, poor kitty. I'm glad that you've found a solution that makes you both a lot happier :)

  • @lilponyrider gosh, I wish I *had* someone to hold him down!

  • hello that comb is dangarous for cats
