wow. a lot of anti-freedom folks here. i ask for all prohibitions on marriage to be REPEALed precisely because it is a civil/individual liberty issue and i get a thumbs down. lol
Such a pity we should have to go begging for rights from people who should never have been allowed to withhold them from us in the first place. Never in the course of history has anybody else put their civil rights up to "the will of the people", yet we're constantly told that we must do so. It is unconscionable and inhumane.
i wouldn't say "never before". but i agree. rights are not granted by gov't, though statists want to take the credit for the very foundations of society, namely the existence of rights.
yeah, i don't get it. "why should anyone ask 275,000 for the permission to marry?" idk, why should the whole state be expected or even have the "right" vote on marriage?
But please don't forget that discrimination is still rampant in Maine. What does it matter if I can get married but can't keep a job? Remember Portland is a Microcosm, the rest of Maine isn't like that. Please don't forget the issues in Rural Maine, I don't see any enforcement/money going toward this. Now, only *married* queers will be considered the legitimate members of socially acceptable society. This marginalized the bisexual and poly community, continuing a hetrosexist standard.

lol. exactly. so why do we need thousands of people to vote for an unnecessary law? oh that's right, because people keep making laws in the first place. the answer in simple. REPEAL
Hey creators of this great video, Facebook lets me share this, but won't show it embedded. Does it have anything to do with the settings for the video here on You Tube?
