Socom was an upset. I loved the old style of socom... Its trying too hard to be like COD. But Gran Turismo is probably the biggest name exclusive to the PS3 and it is amazing. Any other simulation style racing games just can't compare. But you're right, most of the new releases are garbage. On the other hand, Xbox does not put out exclusives at the rate that PS does. They have great exclusives, but don't release many a year. You got ur Halo, Gears, etc... But not as many big name exclusives.
lol i don't know about the rest but i actually buy a lot of ps3 exclusives, even though for doing that i have to give up in a lot of multiplats but i just don't care...besides batman i didn't like multiplats this year.

Sales numbers don't include used games so they DO lie. In this economy, more people are likely to sell back games after they beat them if they don't have MP (infamous) or if they don't like the MP (motorstorm, resistance, LBP). People are also more likely to buy used from gamespot or best buy or online (ebay or amazon). So a LOT more people PLAYED those games than the 200,000 - 500,000 figures - those are just sales of NEW copies

That's factually wrong. PS3 and 360 are VERY close in overall console sales. According to Wikipedia, PS3 sold 51.8 million units sold as of June 31st 2011, Xbox 360 sold 57.6 million units sold as of September 30, 2011 so for all we know they could be tied right now with the very recent PS3 price drop to $250.
360's main population is US - it's more popular here, but PS3 pretty much dominates the rest of the world so that's probably why most of your friends have 360.

They're still exclusives for Ps3, I didnt count Metal Gear since its going to e on Xbox soon, but thats still more game than you named for Xbox. I wanna see how the Halo remake is going to square out. If it sells more than 3 million all im going to do is lol. I have a PS3 and this guy is telling the truth. PS3 exclusives don't sell. But I don't think it's because the games suck, I just think people don't want to spend the full $60 to buy games and would rather wait until the price drops. Prices do drop quick. Furthermore, Gears of War 3 sells a lot and personally, that game is shit. It's repetitive and boring.
Pretty damn funny how certain people get offended by your opinion but i think the real truth is GREAT games dont sell no matter what platform they're on. The sad part about this new generation of gamers is a majority of them only care about multiplayer and CoD games. From the end of august till now i've played/playing some truly great games like Deus Ex, Shogun 2, God of War Origins, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, RAGE, and the new Ace Combat...sadly they'll never see sales like a mainstream game

I mean, if you're a gamer then owning both consoles and leaving with the pros and cons of the console are just part of life. I said longevity and I will say it again. And my number one examply, Infamous was excellent but in no one once I beat the story on hard was I going to go back and play as a villain nnooo sir! But a game like Demon souls I beat like 6 or 7x because it had that missing.
@LAVEYP Ingredient. There are many good games on the PS3 but not a lot of them give you valid reasons to back to them after you have completed them. Again, it's all about longevity and once you have beaten certain games are they worth keeping around because you're going to actually go back to it? Now as of no one buying them, I do not blame marketing I just believe that certain games hold low interest in people that currently have older games that still entertain them. I.E. COD, BF BC, DS etc.

Sony doesn't market their games as hard as Microsoft does. They never did before and definitely aren't now considering the many problems they are facing in 2011.
Things to take into consideration; their online service being hacked and the tsunami in Japan. Call me naive but I really don't see heavy investments in their exclusives (good or bad) as their number one priority these days.

Take the fable franchise for example. it's a decent series but isn't as good as half of Sony's exclusives and yet, MS advertises the shit out of it and it sells extremely well.
Seems like xbox is just the console for dedicated hardcore gamers most of there series except gears stretch back to the original xbox where the only exclusive games sony still have from that era are god of war and twisted metal. Final fantasy went multi plat as is metal gear.
Lets be honest... kids are saving their money right now for multiplats. well the majority. MW3 and Battlefield 3 along with games like skyrim are what will sell a lot. Unchartered 3 will definitely sell as it is pretty much the ps3's goldenchild imo. However... at the end of the day people will be on MW3, BF3, Skyrim. its that simple. especially MW3. i look at my ps3 friend list too... 50 friends and 1 of my homies plays infamous 1... got that game free off the ps3 outage just started playin it

Im not a fanboy but i will say this if the PS3 has 5 exclusives and the XBOX has 1 exslusive doesnt it make not everyone can afford 5 games for the PS3 the money gets spread out. The reason PS3 exclusives don't sell compared to Microsoft is simple, Microsoft/X-box has a Monster Marketing department compared to Sony/PS3.
When X-Box markets a game you literally see it everywhere you go and everything you do or see until it's burned in your mind.

But I don't think it's because the games suck, I just think people don't want to spend the full $60 to buy games and would rather wait until the price drops. Prices do drop quick. And my number one examply, Infamous was excellent but in no one once I beat the story on hard was I going to go back and play as a villain nnooo sir! Again, it's all about longevity and once you have beaten certain games are they worth keeping around because you're going to actually go back to it? Now as of no one buying them, I do not blame marketing I just believe that certain games hold low interest in people that currently have older games that still entertain them. I.E. Sony doesn't market their games as hard as Microsoft does. They never did before and definitely aren't now considering the many problems they are facing in 2011.
Things to take into consideration; their online service being hacked and the tsunami in Japan. Call me naive but I really don't see heavy investments in their exclusives (good or bad) as their number one priority these days.
