The poster, below, says, "Without corporations, there would be no taxes," and "All our products and services are provided by corporations." What nonsense. Many of the largest corporations doing business in the US pay almost no income taxes, while vastly benefitting from public infrastructure. Nature, our families and friends and our governments, provide for our most important needs. Corporations must be reigned in by much tighter regulation and stripped of many of their current privileges.
Unfortunately, this documentary is doing nothing but demonizing corporations. The girl asked the best question "What benefits have corporations brought?". The answer is a lot. Without corporations there would be no taxes. All our products & services are provided by corprations. Sweatshops have a bad reputation, but remember people CHOOSE to work there, it's their best option. A Bangladeshi sweatshop which was forced closed by Western protests, and many of the women were forced into prostitution
The LLC is a symptom, not the cause of these problems. Regulations and social pressure are not going to fix the systematic problems inherent in the system of capital acquisition and state backed private property.
There should be more teachers teaching our kids on this subject. I do!
Boycott overseas corporations! Buy what is manufactured in your own country and if not available, keep your money circulating within your communities by purchasing used "non-retail" products from local thrift stores, garage sales, craigslist ect,.
I tend not to just believe anything, I do my research. From what I remember, most of the information presented was not opinion, but fact. It is not about being unfair and bad. It's about people, and corporations for that matter that have fought for the right to be considered human entities, to take notice of and be accountable for their negative impact on the environment and humanity. Just watch it, its a learning experience if nothing else.
Wow. You know you're a bad teacher when your students agree with what you say and teach. I haven't seen the movie but I can clearly see that it is biased. You shouldn't waste your life fighting a system you can't change, that's probably the dumbest path you can take. You can't change the winds, but you can adjust your sails. Keep your mind open!
@theoneoflight I agree that you need both sides of the story and that is precisely why I liked the movie. You do hear from BOTH sides. That's why I say you should see the movie. The trailer doesn't do it justice.
Something tells me you liked it because you believed the information it presented to you; not because you heard both sides. The movie's thesis jumps out to me as "Corporations are bad and not fair." But I could be wrong on that.
Well Haley, I thought your shirt was humorous, but you weren't talking ditzy. You made a fantastic point. If the film did nothing more than make you think about where the products you are purchasing came from, then the film was successful.
Personally, I was impressed with every one of you. More youth today should be inspired by you guys.

@theoneoflight maybe you should see the movie before you judge.

Yeah I'll go check out the movie after I see the trailer I don't like.
A good teacher would teach the students both sides of the story then let them decide.
