I wear makeup but I don't feel the need to wear it nor do I feel insecure with myself. I wear it because it's fun for me to pamper myself and spend that couple minutes in front of the mirror playing around with different products.
I do wear makeup because I feel insecure about how I look, but i'm trying to get over that fact and be a more natural me. However, I also wear maleup because I love it - I love to experiment with different looks. I think makeup is fun to be honest. :D

So...having fun with makeup is wrong? Or even using it for practicality? For example, I have a scar on my face for now, and covering it up might be appropriate in settings like a job interview. Or even around people I care about, because some are more squeamish and a fresh scar freaked them out (right after the stitches were removed). Can't I be normal like everyone else without scars on their face? I don't always use it to make myself feel better (fun!), it's sometimes for the sake of others.
I'm not HEAVY about makeup. I only wear a little. I put some eyeliner on, mascara, Chapstick, lip gloss, and some blush to get redness from my face. And that's all. :) I wear black, but I apply lightly.
At my school we are not allowed makeup, so I feel really bad and always look down so no one can see my face. I know people judge me for the way I look and what I like and I feel really bad sometimes because I always have breakouts due to major stress. :'(
@jdspiritwolf331 Because most guys are taught that wearing make-up will make them gay or girly. As a girl, who has never wanted to wear make-up, I find it fine if anybody wear any amount of make-up. (Except maybe like drag queens, but you know, that's a different story.)
Well, I think makeup is just for enhancing your natural looks, its just gross when girls start freaking shedding powder on the desk. A little lotion, some eyeliner a little eyeshadow and maybe chapstick/lip gloss is all you really need. :)
I wear make-up because it's fun to use and apply (I'm an artist) and I enjoy putting effort into my appearance. When used correctly, its purpose is to enhance natural beauty. Although some people do use it to mask their insecurities, I think you need to get off your high horse and stop lumping everyone into the same categories.

Ok onision lol I have to say. I am alittle insecure when I do wear make up but when people r over and Im still getting ready Im perfectly fine with them seeing me not ready. But Id just like to say that some of us actually dont really think about if we want to wear make up. There's nothing wrong with wearing makeup and there's nothing wrong with not wearing makeup. What's wrong is when people judge others on something so trivial as wearing makeup. Everyone has insecurities and we need to accept that and make people understand that there's more to them than just their physical appearance. Makeup is supposed to be for little things like pimples and such, so that's understandable. It's when people wear so much makeup that it's caked on their face and they're practically unrecognizable without it that it becomes a problem. At least, that's what I think. ((And natural beauty does exist, girls.))

My bf and I just had this conversation a couple of days ago.. He loves me without make up and says I look the most beautiful without it, so I try to be as natural around him as possible and let him see me as I am, and being all vulnerable, but it was really hard in the beginning due to past issues.
Though I agree with you the confidence part, I feel like make up is more than a cover up for insecurities. It can be another way of expression. Besides red lipstick is sooo much fun.

I think make-up is a good thing when done right anyweasles. Personally, I'm a make-up artist. However, I'm more of a horror fx make-up artist. I see make-up as a way to be creative. Horror, gorgeous, or whatever you prefer to do. Yes, it can cover up flaws. I understand perfectly.. I mean if I had a bad break out one week.. you bet your ass I'm smothering my face with Acne Scrub and laying down the foundation. Also because I work in retail, and a pizza face does not make money. The "real" you is not who you are on the outside, its who you are on the inside. None of us is responsible for the physical appearance nature has given us. So if we can't choose we can at least have some fucking fun with it and look how we want to look and add all the deco we want to add. Not all girls who wear make up are insecure, its a part of who you are. Just like you have those tattoos. Wearing lipstick is not more of a mask than having a "personality".

This is so stupid. I don't wear makeup because I'm insecure. My friends don't wear makeup because they are insecure. I'm pretty sure not ALL women wear makeup because they are insecure. Stop stereotyping women as insecure, just because they wear makeup, it's annoying and frustrating. I wear makeup normally a lot of the time. I do like the non makeup look to. My skin is very clear and thats not a problem. Don't exactly put powder on most of the time. Oh geez, covering zits is not the only reason why girls wear make up (then they wear only powder and other camouflaging things). This video should be directed towards those girls who "cake" on their makeup that it makes them look like drag queens. There's a good and bad way to wear makeup. The purpose of makeup is to enhance features and flaws not hide behind your natural unique beauty. If you have skin problems that's what skin products are for ladies. There's so many girls that don't know how to wear makeup the proper way but don't group all of us in this way or the makeup itself.
I wear makeup to "enhance" my features. I wear mascara to bring out my lashes which brings out my eyes. I wear light shimmery bronzer to give me a glow since I'm pale and I don't tan. I wear lip gloss to bring the attention to my lips ;) I guess the only thing I would be covering up is my under eye circles so I wear concealer and that's it! I still look the same with and without makeup it's just my features are more enhance and not "dull". Just like how you enhance your vids with filters :)

I love to put on my make-up in the mornings! It's fun to play with different eyeshadow colours and eyeliners and other stuff! I love when people give me compliments on my make-up in school. Thats actually the complete opposite of why I wear makeup XD I have probably more than 15 zits on my face and its one of the least places I wear makeup, I honestly dont even care about the zits, thats how confident I am, I only wear makeup on my eyes because it enhances the colour of my eyes, even without makeup I feel the same way as I do with it on. Its not a matter of insecurities for me, more like something fun to do. But thats just me :P
I think that make up is a wonderful thing, but the thing is that if you cover up the zits that you have all you are doing is covering the redness the pimple its self is still there. I wear make up quite often and I admit that sometimes i do wear a lot, but it doesn't look cakey or unnatural. If you know how to apply makeup correctly, and how to properly take care of your skin, then there should be no reason for your make up to look unnatural.

I dont wear makeup and my mother always wants me to when we go to places. I think makeup is a cover up of who i really am. Not meaning that its a cover up of the other people who wear it but just me.
i use makeup to highlight my features. I really only wear mascara and eyeliner most times to highlight my eyes. Sometimes i'll wear eyeshadow and lipstick.

At my school we are not allowed makeup, so I feel really bad and always look down so no one can see my face. I know people judge me for the way I look and what I like and I feel really bad sometimes because I always have breakouts due to major stress. :'(

Well, I think makeup is just for enhancing your natural looks, its just gross when girls start freaking shedding powder on the desk. A little lotion, some eyeliner a little eyeshadow and maybe chapstick/lip gloss is all you really need. :)

I wear make-up because it's fun to use and apply (I'm an artist) and I enjoy putting effort into my appearance. When used correctly, its purpose is to enhance natural beauty. Although some people do use it to mask their insecurities, I think you need to get off your high horse and stop lumping everyone into the same categories.

But Id just like to say that some of us actually dont really think about if we want to wear make up. Makeup is supposed to be for little things like pimples and such, so that's understandable. It's when people wear so much makeup that it's caked on their face and they're practically unrecognizable without it that it becomes a problem. At least, that's what I think. I think make-up is a good thing when done right anyweasles. Personally, I'm a make-up artist. However, I'm more of a horror fx make-up artist. I see make-up as a way to be creative. Horror, gorgeous, or whatever you prefer to do. Yes, it can cover up flaws. I understand perfectly.. I mean if I had a bad break out one week.. you bet your ass I'm smothering my face with Acne Scrub and laying down the foundation. Also because I work in retail, and a pizza face does not make money. The "real" you is not who you are on the outside, its who you are on the inside. None of us is responsible for the physical appearance nature has given us. So if we can't choose we can at least have some fucking fun with it and look how we want to look and add all the deco we want to add. Not all girls who wear make up are insecure, its a part of who you are. Just like you have those tattoos. Wearing lipstick is not more of a mask than having a "personality".

I wear makeup normally a lot of the time. I do like the non makeup look to. My skin is very clear and thats not a problem. Don't exactly put powder on most of the time. I normally just put a little bit of eyeliner on. I'm still the same person and I pretty much look almost like the same person. I'm not insecure about it. I really enjoy makeup and its possibility of creative ways. I want to be a cosmologist.

This video should be directed towards those girls who "cake" on their makeup that it makes them look like drag queens. There's a good and bad way to wear makeup. The purpose of makeup is to enhance features and flaws not hide behind your natural unique beauty. If you have skin problems that's what skin products are for ladies. I wear makeup to "enhance" my features. I wear mascara to bring out my lashes which brings out my eyes. I wear light shimmery bronzer to give me a glow since I'm pale and I don't tan. I wear lip gloss to bring the attention to my lips ;) I guess the only thing I would be covering up is my under eye circles so I wear concealer and that's it! I still look the same with and without makeup it's just my features are more enhance and not "dull". Just like how you enhance your vids with filters :)

Thats actually the complete opposite of why I wear makeup XD I have probably more than 15 zits on my face and its one of the least places I wear makeup, I honestly dont even care about the zits, thats how confident I am, I only wear makeup on my eyes because it enhances the colour of my eyes, even without makeup I feel the same way as I do with it on. I think that make up is a wonderful thing, but the thing is that if you cover up the zits that you have all you are doing is covering the redness the pimple its self is still there. I wear make up quite often and I admit that sometimes i do wear a lot, but it doesn't look cakey or unnatural. If you know how to apply makeup correctly, and how to properly take care of your skin, then there should be no reason for your make up to look unnatural.
