There are still African tribes all across Africa that still live under tribal conditions. I cant claim jurisdiction there and set up my own country just because of their lifestyle.
Of course there were laws. They have their own rules and systems. You have to respect that. I cant just walk into a foreign country and say, well, we dont practice foreign civil code or common law. So all their claims are irrelevant.
It was native american land. The indians didnt travel to europe and kill white americans there. It was white americans who intruded upon Native American soil and decided to live there without consent. Even when consent could be agreed upon. It was done so under duress. Natives were forced off their land in congress legislated Indian Removal Acts to make way for more white american settlers. It completely changed the demographics of the landscape.

Actually if your descendants were part of the original colonialist then yes he forced his way into this land according to the Native American perspective. Ask yourself whose law is it? Well, I would say when forced assimilation results in mass casualties its a bad thing. Whether or not genocide was intentional or not, that's a different debate in itself. True, many other cultures did assimilate into American society, but it seems to me that Amerindians got the short end of the stick compared to other peoples. People came here to better their lives while Amerindians were attempting to preserve the life they already enjoyed.
As to getting the short end of a stick, the Indians WERE America's enemies for decades, you can't expect our ancestors to treat them as we would people from countries that HADN'T attacked us. That, and/or their arrogance and active--sometimes violent--resistance to assimilation got them branded as enemies/Persona Non Grata.

@EPGAH I am sure the Nazis gave the same excuse for attempting to eradicate the Jews. Some would argue that early reservations were concentration camps. They took a selected group of people, Native Americans, and forced them into a fenced prison camp where they weren't allowed to leave, and had to survive off of measly portions of rations. Many Amerindians died as a result, and I firmly believe that the government cared little about this fact.

Actually if your descendants were part of the original colonialist then yes he forced his way into this land according to the Native American perspective. Ask yourself whose law is it? America is built on massive colonialism thus it cannot belong to any one people. "Lesser cultures" is a term only imperialist use. As to why they just don't go back to living the way they used to, that would be utter nonsense given their current situation. My god, look at what has happened to those who have lived a relatively traditional life even in the 1900s, such as the Navajo, they end up getting relocated and were forced to assimilate.

Well, I would say when forced assimilation results in mass casualties its a bad thing. Whether or not genocide was intentional or not, that's a different debate in itself. True, many other cultures did assimilate into American society, but it seems to me that Amerindians got the short end of the stick compared to other peoples. People came here to better their lives while Amerindians were attempting to preserve the life they already enjoyed.

@EPGAH I am sure the Nazis gave the same excuse for attempting to eradicate the Jews. Some would argue that early reservations were concentration camps. They took a selected group of people, Native Americans, and forced them into a fenced prison camp where they weren't allowed to leave, and had to survive off of measly portions of rations. Many Amerindians died as a result, and I firmly believe that the government cared little about this fact.

Giving land and money to a group and letting them keep on keeping on, allows them to delude themselves into thinking their ways are still valid, and essentially breeds a dependent, but still resentful or even hostile Country Within Country.
However, as I pointed out before, it's precisely what many modern "immigrants" seek: Carve out a piece of America to stay the same--on our dime!

I heard that the reason the natives are called " Indians " is because when Colombous landed in the continent he thought he landed in the East Indies. And soon other white explorers started to call them "Indians". Is this true?

@swartsanager2 -yea, that is true he thought he landed in India. The Idai indians got their name from the russians that were near the indios? river when they met the now "india indians", but let me tell you something , i got in a debate with a "india indian" and they realy think they are better than all of us "dumb" Americans ( they get educated from day one to come to America) it is frusterating because they will work in these "blocks" that enables them to work for less money

In the book of Daniel the bible speaks of "knowledge shall be increased." Science technology and archeology? Through archeological findings and research they have found that certain native tribes had a written and spoke language of Paleo Hebrew. But destroyed by Europeans. Mexico is derived from the word Meshica. America was named after Amerigo Vespucci. Colorado is Spanish for red. I write this to inform and not to pass judgment. @joshvargas2 I looked up colorado in the merriam websters dictionary and it it defines colorado as rojo or to blush and then I looked up rojo and it is defined as red in american english. I grew up in the southwest of north america and colorado was defined as red in mexican spanish, kind of like american english, both new dialects and language, I believe. Colorado also in mexican spanish also means off-color joke. Rojo is probably the more proper term.

Why have not the hosts of heaven not appeared in the land of Israel. Israel is only a country at the moment. When the bible speaks of Israel as a nation, it speaks of its people, their ancestors and descendants, not a piece of land. Why then do the hosts of heaven appear in the southwest U.S.A. and not the land of Israel? Many say "its all in the past." But God has not forgotten and those in Sheol ask for justice. Im from Chicago and one of my neighbors is Native American, so I ask her where her family is from. She tells me South Dakota and that theres nothing over there. So I asked her if she was Lakota, she says no, shes Sioux. I thought It was the same but she says it's not. Anyone care to comment?...btw love this video.

@injundonrey The word Mexican is another word same as American. You know the native people invented the word "America," but only the Whites call them selves Americans!. The Aztecs invented the name "Mexican", but the Whites are the ones calling them selves Mexicans on Mexico's side. If you understand the Whites stole the names, and the land from natives.

im not sure why everyone blames columbus, although he didnt have to do what he was told, its been the kings/queens of europe that were the primary source of overtaking the americas and canada and...... when you put out a fire, you dont put the water on the top of the flame, you put the water at the base of the fire! What was done was wrong, but now its being done to ALL OF US of every race!! It hasnt stopped at all!

I smiled when I heard the FFX music. Good video - very well done. Where did you get the footage? I had a professor that I think was in one of those History specials actually. Native American History is so upsetting, horrific actually. When I look in the mirror and see my dark skin and hair and my face I see my tribal heritage looking back at me and it makes me proud. I wish I knew all the tribes in my blood line. All the genocide makes it very hard to trace. :(

I am English and I agree with sainglain ... we can only learn from our mistakes, however I think America is being seen in the same way, we cannot go on trying to change everyone into our ways, we should celebrate differences between cultures and preserve them.
