Nemanja
I've just purchased the 2011 model in black it's my first bike and so far I'm impressed with the acceleration and comfort of the bike 10/10 good beginner bike
the sv 650 is an amazing bike, but i wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, i was on a 250 for over a year and it did me right.i moved up a few weeks ago to the sv and man.. this bike is mean as shit. i really don't see the need for anything bigger. just my .02
Damn! i gotta hand it to ya,when it comes to design, suzukis are really something aint it. But when it comes to the performance wise and others,i really dont know. Never ridden 1 before,is it any good?
@pueto1 thats most likely true but your R6 is around 350 lbs ,alot lighter, so that would go without saying the sv1000 is over 400lbs and 650 is only around 370 you try banking with a 50 lb bag of shit under your tank big difference on such small vehicles. but the 1K would leave you in the dust as far as endurance is concerned. little four bangers are not as fuel efficient.
Hey nice bike dude, but everyone u know that red light under the neutral i think its the temp light does that stay on until you start the engine up? Iv had mine for a year now and its freaking me out i swear it used to go out before start up.
any thing back on this would be helpfull cheers :)
No, that red light is the Fuel Injection/ Oil warning light. It should go out when you start up the engine, if not, then you have a problem my friend.
The SV is a nice bike. I used to ride a CBR600F but as I crashed it (not my fault, councils) it's a write-off. Looking at a few 600's and maybe a 1000 when my compensation comes though. My brother's been telling me about the SV, low down torque, cheap to insure(group 10). My options are open, I may get an SV but I also have a CBR600RR, ZX6-R, R6, GSX-R750 on the brain. SV is a rather nice bike : )
Sv's are way more comfortable a bike than a GSX-R will be. and yea my insurance is around 250 bucks for it, mind you its a 2003. Sv's can sure keep up with a CBR too, dont think it cant.
its very good as a starter bike not too powerful. but its very torquey since its a V-Twin this means loads of engine breaking u need extra care riding on wet surfaces
No man! This is a great starter bike! That's why I bought it man cause it's strong enough but at the same tame great control! If u have to choose ur first bike I strongly recommend SV650 bro! My next one will be sv 1000 hopefully :-)
If I get the bike and I crash it and my arms and legs are reduced to bloody stumps, I'm gonna come back to this YouTube post and blame HercegovacHrvat.
@HercegovacHrvat should i get a second hand SV 650S? i have a 1962 MZ ES 250 2 stroke and i want a bike which i can ride daily without reliability problems:D i am not very experienced though..almost 1 year of riding
the most perfect starter bike, for the reason that i had one for a whole year before it was stolen, had to check out new bikes and i was easily able to get on a 07 gixxer 750 and rip it open and in the same day get on a 2004 buell 1203 with a race pipe with no problems so yeah the SV is the best for learning hands down
i ended up getting a Ninja 250, which is fun... interestingly, when looking at the acceleration and top speed stats of a "beginner cruiser" such as a Honda Rebel 600, my 250cc ninja is better, and considerably lighter. So, I learned a big lesson... more CC's doesn't always equal performance increase.
Yeah, but those are totally different bikes. A higher displacement motor fully tuned will always make more than a lower displacement fully tuned. Have fun on the ninja. They seem sto be a good started bike for the first season or so.
I've just bought one exactly like this, blue and half faired. Picking it up tomorrow and should have it restricted at some point next week. I can't wait!!! xD
might be a dumb question but im a new rider, so what is that small canister attached to the right handlebar?
anotherveryboredguy 7 months ago in playlist sv 650
@anotherveryboredguy thats the reservoir for the front brake's brake fluid :) not a dumb question, you gotta learn this stuff

ignus1985 2 years ago
its for oil pression. it is normal that it is on before you start the engine, cause as long as the engine is not running there is no pression.

Hey man, just a piece of advice, I would take the extra stuff you have on your keys off to avoid scratching your "dash," if you will.
