  • Love Slade so much better than todays crap Slade Sparks Queen 3 brilliant bands that made my teenage years so unforgettable

  • Beatles influence on this song , i think !

  • why did they put those stupid big baloons around?

  • @maugaw What were they supposed to do with them?

  • They don't make music like this anymore. Just listen to the shit of Justin B, Lady Gaga and Rhianna.

  • @rkj1963 Lady Gaga music for centures

  • Absolut unterschätzte Band.

Tolle Melodien-ein Sänger mit einer unglaublichen Stimme.

Ich war, bin, bleibe Fan dieser Band ohne die es laut Campino nie Punk gegeben hätte.

  • if I find my DVD I will post it, it's slade playing a struggling band, I'll look in my shed this week......everyone remind me

  • one of greatest bands of all time

  • @vertxxgg CORRECT!!!!!!!!! Might be best UK band ever. Ridiculously underrated though!!!!!!

  • Thanks for this rare video...

  • One of my favourite Slade songs.

Also the B- Side Can you just Imagine is a great track

Rare video indeed, never seen it before

  • Carlfluk nobody is your mate. You are sad and one dimensional. Found the windmill yet. I will supply the breeze!

  • @teddingtontcu Still hoping to avoid being replied by trying to hide your gibberish comments by not answering directly, that is what I call infantile behavior and you said you are 51? Too old to get a life, your problem.

BTW You must be talking about yerself, coz you have no friends, nobody agrees with you and you are only out to argue here. Sad man spreading hate and ignorance.

  • @teddingtontcu If you are born for a penny, you will never be a pound, wise words from the band you disgust so much, lil frustrated dickhead wanker!

  • @proslade if this prat was born for a penny his parents were stung . i would be looking for my money back . the doctors who delivered him should be taken to court and sent down for a vey long time.

  • Music just doesn't get better than this. Favorite song of all time, I'd have it at my funeral if they'd allow it.

  • Music just doesn't get better than this. Favorite song of all time, I'd have it at my funeral if they'd allow it.

  • When music was sung and played proper, good old days, sadly missed now due to todays unorginal artists.

  • Years back i saw Swet and Slade at the same bill(concert) in Aalborg, Denmark. Non of the bands had the original frontsinger. Brian C. dead and had ben for years , and Noddy just wasent part of Slade any longer, nor havend been for many years. Live it was a great experince, but the lack of true frontmen made it nostalgic without sugar. Smokie without Chris N 50%, Slade without Noddy 45% and Sweet without Brian C, not posible - but 35%. Silly i know... c¨,)

  • Nobody's fool was my first Slade self purchased MC back in 1976. Slade have prodused many great songs, but this mc will stand as one of the greatest full length to/for me, if not THE greatest. 4evrSlade, Slade4evr..

  • The best live band iv'e ever seen, they were absolutely "AWESOME" on stage.

I remember seeing them at the Rainbow Finsbury Park in 1977 when they had returned from America they were incredible, saw them loads of times after that and they were always mindblowing with so much energy. They were really let down buy the media, and still are to this day. It's still very rare to hear a Slade track on the radio, which is very sad really.

    Totally underated.

    Keep On Rockin!!!!!!!!

  • Das ist geile, kraftvolle Unterschicht(Proletarier)-Kunst - im besten Sinne. Bertold Brecht wäre begeistert! Und die Jungens sind noch richtige Hammer-Live-Musiker!

  • God! this brings it all back. What a voice. I was driving alone yesterday and for some reason I started singing this. I'm now 52 and I got most of the lyrics right. As for the Guitar solo... great when you're doing 80mph in the outside lane of the M6

  • puta banda.

    hermética.

    incomparável.

    imcomparável.

    imcomparável.

  • Slade were in the US. This was taken off Nobody's Fools. I had come home from school to feed the dog during dinner break. J. Walker played this on R1 and I jumped for joy. I loved it, slightly different for Slade, as NF was. I was singing it at the top of my voice while feeding Gus. Then I heard my Dad shouting from upstairs, "I'm trying to sleep up here!" I had forgotten my Dad was on nights. Anyway, the dog got fed, my Dad got to sleep and the song got No 11. A slice of the 70s for you. LLTMS

  • Love this song , nearly as good as How does it feel .

  • one of my fathers favourite songs! :) kick from faith, he's passed away... :'(

  • happy bday Noddy Holder

  • Noddy is looking scary! He's like some John Lennon glam rock cross!

  • It's great! I fond of them.

  • last single i bought, slade jinx was over for me, but thanks everybody for enlightening and posting:)

  • Да, да. Год этак 1976, Иии - Ду Ю ремембе найт ин септембэ. Вот это был кайф! Когда мы были молодыми.

  • Long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • Beautiful song, brings a tear to my eye when I think back to how their career was about to nose-dive. 'Nobodys Fools' only getting to No 14, two years in the USA about to break them financially, 'Whatever Happened' was to fail to chart completely, 'Return to Base' made me feel they were totally lost, but still they gigged on and I saw them a few times,77, 78, 79 tickets weren't hard to get hold of, not like in their heyday, and then..... READING. True fans weren't surprised and Slade ruled agen

  • @bigmagic96

    Bloody tragic.

You know, late December 1979 TOTP had a special end-of-decade show to celebrate the number 1s of the 70s and Slade weren't even featured for one song.

It still makes me angry to this day.

They were true musicians, and exceptional showmen. What happened to them should never happen to anyone with their talent.

Every time I think about how everyone seemed to turn their backs on them I could cry with shame.

  • Slade are fucking crap.

  • @JuanMacready Stupid comment, don t know what you are talking about. If it is not your taste, than listen to something else that is your taste. IMHO best and most versatile band ever. Period

  • @JuanMacready carlphones spot on dont listen if u dont like go and listen to your own crap

  • @MrKingkong1955 Thanks mate I can t understand some people who are probably misled by the media or prejudists who think Slade were some sort of obscure Glam band, becoz that is what they hear; maybe these people simply can t help it that they are so mispercepted about one of the best bands of alltime. There is simply not one act I can think of that played so many styles! And live they could also give the 'legends' a run for their money.

  • @carlphone i have seen led zep free thin lizzy rod stewart and many more big names of the era and slade would blow them of stage live they were electric live i don t know where this person is coming from

  • @MrKingkong1955 I know, I have compared all these greats, including Stones, U2, you name them, but Slade could give them all a run for their money. Those negative comments are probably a result of what Rolling Stones magazine etc. make people believe. Slade are never listed, and some people just think they are laughed at if they say they are a Slade fan, unbelievable ain t it? Slade are the best band of alltime! How is it possible that the prejudist public perception is so misled and wrong?

  • @carlphone people forget glastonbury 1980 when slade had to play when there old mate ozzy osbourn had to pull out they really rocked the place it was the second coming of slade is there a better singer out there than noddy even the great john lennan commented

  • @MrKingkong1955 Think you will find it was Reading

  • @kara1464 Wow- that's inexcusable! Also, Slade Alive was removed by Rolling Stone from their list of most important albums. Thrown under the bus by the media- this is the reasoning behind Noddy's refusal for one last concert tour. What a shame, but so understandable on his part.

  • @orange8129

"Thrown under the bus by the media" - how that is so TRUE. And, aye, very understandable on Noddy's part.

I can't imagine what they went through - they slid so far down so quickly that it must have left them shell-shocked. And they never deserved it.

  • супер вещь супер группа

  • hammer, hammer das waren zeiten!!

  • idal

    super

    extra the best

    the best

  • No one sings or sounds like Noddy!!! Brilliant, just Brilliant :o)

  • Slade took some big chances- In Flame as a serious movie and then touring the States where they were never liked. This song sums it up and yes- Gee What a Band!

  • NIRVANA RE WROTE THIS AND IT BECAME "i THINK I'M DUMB" LISTEN CLOSELY

  • remember this single as if it was yesterday, not at their best, but still Slade, and that´s more than most band can reach in their hole career:)

  • Hi everybody, Love this and Love SLADE. For my sins I formed a Slade Tribute called SLADEST. Type in Sladest and have a look, Tell me what you think, good or bad. KEEP ON ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Jetstarboy I´m a kid from today ^^.This music realy is awesome. This sound is just fantastic. Just because most of the musics from today is not good it doesnt mean we don´t now what good musik realy is. I think it is pathetical that they do not play the songs from this band in the radio.

  • the only band I can think of today that comes anywhere near the classic Slade sound is an outfit called The Crash Street Kids from Arizona in the US, check em out if you like this sort of stuff.

  • kids of today - this is real music from when i was a lad...much better than the sh*te of today.....rock on Noddy !!!

  • hey, i'm 15 and i love slade! lol

  • Good for you - i was 15 in 1976 at the peak of the glam rock era.

Also look at the sweet and t-rex on youtube - keep on rockin!

  • Is Noddy trying to look like Lennon?

  • I hated this when it came out, but now it's one of my fave tracks from the band.

Same went for 'Nobody's Fool', they grew up quicker than their fans did sadly!

  • does anyone know if it really is true that noddy was offered the laed in ACDC wen Bon Scott died, serious is it true or just rumours?

  • According to an interview I read with Noddy, it is true. He turned them down. If I remember correctly he mentioned they should take a look at Brian Johnson...

  • Probably far too late and others have answered your question but I have just read AC/DC Biography and apparantly the first person they thought of after Bon died was Noddy - They thought he was the ultimate. However Bon himself had mentioned Brian Johnson at some point.

Are you from Dufftown with the name Mortlach?

I stayed there for a short while in the 70s

  • no im afraid not, just my love of 'mortlach23' year old whiskey!

  • great bass line....long live Slade.........

  • when virgin radio became Absolute radio they said they were gonna play REAL MUSIC FOR REAL MUSIC FANS..........Oh yeah,...... NOT A SINGLE SLADE SONG PLAYED SO FAR, how pathetic, they r still a toy for the record companies

  • You have good taste in whisky, and music, my father used to work at Mortlach in the 70s.

Cant get you a free bottle unfortunately though!

  • These guys were a trip! I can't help but thinking when I listen to alot of it that they were a bit ahead of thier time!

What is 'Slade' doing now? Whatever happened to them? They just seemed to vanish soon after this.

  • Gee they had a band!!!

  • is that what brown the clown and the banks are doing in for a £ or is it billons of pounds ? i fogot how good slade was i got into thin lizzy about this time cos i thought slad was to popy i was so wrong

  • that denim coat Dave Hill is wearing in this video I won years ago from Slade's fan club, STILL HAVE IT NOW FROM YEARS AGO......................

  • supersonic? i thought it was razzamatazz,

don't really matter though as it's a class song, another one under rated and under played by our bias music industry

  • where are the tabs for that solo?

  • i'm trying to write it up

  • If your in your in!!!

  • i know noddy won't read anything but anyaway good memories still remains

  • This appears to be from classic 70's show SUPERSONIC,which I always loved watching. This was a fave track from the "Nobody's Fools" LP,great Beatles-ish harmonies, cool guitar solo by Dave. Hmmm, with the beret and accordian I reckon this is actually Noddy's French cousin,"Froggie Holder"...

  • i like it, froggie, very good

  • A Great Band Missed By Radio Again!!!

  • best slade song ever

  • one of the best!! with a j lennon's look for Noddy... no??

  • What a great number this is

  • this song is great ...and what a wonderful guitar riff!!!!

  • I love this period of Slade. I miss them so much and resigned to the fact we will never see the original line up together that for my sins I've put a tribute together. We did our first gig december, its on youtube under slade tribute band. No one will ever replace the good looking Bstd that was Nod, but do forgive me for wanting to relive that time. Anyway go and have a look and give some feedback good or bad,I know I have to work on the voice, but christ i was nervous. Keep on Rockin!

  • I really don' t understand what 'happened to slade , in the early seventies , it was a great band , and after 1976 , after the film slade in flame and the album , everybody was laughing if you said that you were a slade fand , i still wonder why

  • The same thing happened to TRex. Maybe it was the clothes. Kids are fickle. Fashions change & they move onto the next fad. God! Yes, I remember, it was disco!!!

Slade were a cut above the other so-called glam acts at that time. Maybe they should have gone back to the skinhead look. I'm looking forward to seeing that film one day.

I read the book years ago - I think I actually still have the paperback! I hope so!!

  • Graet song, thanks for sharing ;)

  • It waas the best band--still is!

  • Noddy's got the John Lennon look from 1975!!

  • one of my fav.slade songs....luv it! Thanks for sharing!

  • Takes me back years great stuff

  • Great song, naughty lyrics, where can I get the tab for the leady bits?!

  • One Of My All Time Bands Of All Time! When Rock Was A Good Time Music. What Happen?

  • My husband and I love this song.

  • comment n'ont ils pas u plus de succès je me le demande

  • Good song, bit late in the day for Noddy to think he was John Lennon though?

  • it's always good to see this video, love the song, love the band...cheers.

  • Beautiful track! Wot a supurb band this was! rAN63

  • A quality Slade song from the days when pop music was fun and sometimes "tongue in cheek". I saw them in the seventies... cost 75p for a ticket! They could really write some fine songs though. Thanks for posting.
