The plastic object is cut in a geometric manner which makes it reverse direction, if it was flat it would not move the opposite direction. The Tesla Hairpin circuit is just a glorified short circuit, with power connected to a transformer which is connected to an AC outlet, and the spark gag electrodes are just completing the short circuit, there is no energy being harness from the atmosphere or radiant energy, If this was the case you would not need the AC outlet power.
