I was happy to view your set up. The diagram was also helpful. It just so happens I have the same set up; however I would like to know what cat cable are you using from the Z817 to the laptop and how are your results. A look at the set up running from the laptop would have been sweet. I didn't have a cat cable thats why I asked.

@softstart100 My laptop only has USB ports. I found a USB CAT cable for the FT817 on Amazon. "Yaesu USB CT-62 CAT Cable FT-100 FT-817 FT-857 10 Foot Version FTDI Chipset Supports Windows 7 64bit
