@dontwalkhand it does that because there's one wire for both the up and down. It sends one pulse for the up and two pulses for down, and that's what makes that short-long down chime. That's also why the bell indicator flashes twice.
Usually, ThyssenKrupp elevators have the Dover chime, not the CEElectronics chime. And wouldn't ThyssenKrupp usually use Epco and not Innovation fixtures?

I can verify that. I was involved in the renovations of this hotel from 2006- to its grand opening in 2008.

I can tell that it is a thyssenkrupp just by the way the chime rings, it rings once, stops halfway for the second chime for going down.
