I met JD too. Not long before he died he came to this area and I had my pic made with him in the front lounge of his bus after the concert. I was about 13 or 14 at the time.

I absolutely loved this man ..had the pleasure of having him come to my hometown and my brother did Elvis and JD & Stamps backed him up and he made me part of his family right then..I truly considered him a friend, he would call my house and I would call him he was always so so nice

JD was so cute. I think it's sweet he found a companion in Mark Lowry. I know Mark must miss him terribly. They just don't make em like JD anymore. I can't wait to here that bass welcome me to heaven!

Steel..I tell you i was unsaved as a teenager. I would go to granny's house for a weekend or so and she would have on sunday mornings the 97 country gospel hour and they almost always played a JD Sumner/Stamps tune. I NEVER listened to the program but when they would play a Sumner?stamps tune i would listen simply for the deep voice!

In this video JD shows pain from loss, but their are other ways to feel that loss without death, thank god he sent someone like mark by to lighten the load, this video shows a good example of christian love.
