Dodge did a great job bringing back the Challenger. I'm a GTO guy (i own a 70) and the 04-06 GTO's looked nothing like the origionals. Even the new Camaros look nothing like the origionals. The only reason people like them is b/c people say it will beat the Challenger and Mustang, or b/c it looks cool, but it doesn't look like the origional. This is the best revival of a muscle car by far! Great Job Dodge!!!

yes a V6 3.0 litre,but it will still do a 140 mph,and starts everytime.

RWD cars are better handling cars,and they may start out with "Girlymatics" just to see if the concept is going to sell,but when the 6 speeds come out then you will be eating crow.

theres a 2009 challenger coming out fall of '08 in 3 models. the SE, R/T, and of course the SRT8. the R/T comes with the 5.7 HEMI but upgraded to 370 HP from the original 340HP (thats in the charger). this car is already hooked up, no need for additional parts but i might put a loudmouth exhaust on it : )

That's what the American performance cars from the late 60's/early 70's were commonly referred as. Most everything after that time was anemic at best. When I was 17 I bought a GTO and it was a blast to drive. It was 12 years old but even then those cars were affordable and obtainable. They had a lot of raw power, hence "Muscle".

@MRwieduwilt lol I have nothing against the mustang, in fact I work at a ford dealership and last week I was lucky enough to be able to take out a 11 shelby gt 500 for a test drive on my lunch break and it's such an amazing car! but at the end of the day I think I would still take a challenger srt8, just because there arent as many around, it's a better car if you have a family and just the feel of the hemi is like nothing else...but I would never buy anything mopar brand new.

It's an AutoStick transmission. You can shift it or drive as a manual. Having driven one in the past, it's smoother than a manual, but there's still a hesitation when you hit the stick to shift up or down.

I find it funny when people compare European cars, Imports, and Sports cars with a Challenger. Challenger is a Muscle car. The only competition the Challenger has is the mustang as of right now. People who want to buy a Challenger aren't going to consider a Nissan Skyline, BMW, Porsche, or Corvette. People who want this car will most likely be choosing between this or the Mustang, and Camaro when it comes out. So it is pointless to compare this car to a car thats different.

It's an AutoStick transmission.  No clutch, just hit the stick & it shifts. Every Challenger manufactured in the first production run is an AutoStick w/ the 6.1 Hemi.
