Im curious, did anyone ever play some old PS2 game called Run Like Hell (RLH)? I feel Dead Space took a lot of ides from that game, smoothed them out, and mixed them with other elements. Such as ur finance being abord the space station ur on in RLH, like Nicole on the Ishimura. The corruption (that crap on the walls that slows u down if u walk in it) that was in RLH (under a different name i think) and generally the "friendly" characters interact and betray u. Plus how enemies appear. Etc...

@stereoprologic what are you talking about? They use 2analog sticks instead of 1 ala resident evil. And on PC the sensitivity is super slow and "E" doesn't respond everytime.

@dessan18 Maybe you have a broken "E" key? Don't see what the analog sticks have to do with anything, and it's more precise for the "strategic dismemberment" part of the game, as well as sensitivity being adjustable, ala the options menu.

@Sabruui1 I don't have a broken EEEEEEEE button, but what I meant, was that you can have more flexibility and freedom in aiming thanks to using both analog sticks, compared to RE4, where you could only use 1 which resulted in very slow aiming when you needed it the most. 1 part that is much harder to do on console is the asteroid mini game but that's about it. After that it all boils down to preference

The flame thrower is by far the most useless weapon in the game, it's so bad that not even with all the Upgrades you don't finish a room without consuming the full ammo, believe me I know it very well. (Secondly comes the Riper, just don't waste your Credits with those although the riper helps you against the Walled Tentacled-Like Necromorph which shoots babies-like from it's belly)

@RawHunterX i found the flame thrower only useful against the small baby things that the pregnant unleashes... and the ripper is a great tool for the wall necromorphs but its best used i found to be used with the force gun... knock them on their asses them shoot the ripper blades at them

@BIILYBOB999 I can give you some advice if you don't mind, if there's a game in which I can do that, this is the one. You know you don't have to fight the little "baby-bugs" from the pregnant ones, in fact those fat ones are the most less dangerous of all necromorphs because they're slow, I'd recommend just use a stasis and rip it's both hands and it will die. Also the 4 main weapons you should have are: 1st Plasma Cutter; 2nd Line Gun; 3rd Force Gun; 4th Contact Beam (after chapter 10)

RE4's story may have sucked balls, but at least Leon was a solid character. The DS team should have looked to MGS3 for how to develop a solid character. Or MGS2 for how to have a character mature over the course of the game.

I wish they'd gone harder on the character development myself, and not tried to completely copy Bioshock concerning how they told the story. Considering how generic the story was, Isaac having some intelligent dialogue (think Uncharted) and actual conversations with the people that made him do all this random shit would be cool. They proved they're superior by far to the RE developer in terms of gameplay, but since they aren't that great at story, maybe more cut scenes would have been in order

just a tip. the plasma cutter is your best friend. once fully upgraded, 2-5 hits to kill just about anything if you hit the limbs. hitting them in the body does almost nothing. i think spoonyone even said all he used was the plasma cutter. great game but i think bioshock was scarier, better story and way more chalanging. this has a patern. you know when something is coming for you.
