  • wath mean TE MERAU ?

    thank you

  • Here is translation and explanation from user

dancingkike - hope she dont mind: It is something like "Oh Lord may I die!"

[this is a genuine gypsy expression for which they are best known;it sometimes is replaced by "may my mother die!" and it is used to emphasize the truthfulness of one's afirmation;it is actually an abreviation of the phrase "May the Lord let me die/let my mother die should I be lying to you!"]

  • I gone die

  • I'm trying to write a longer comment, but it's not posted, what is this...

  • I try again, in shorter pieces. SO, thank you very much for the text.

  • Yes,I'm familar with the short message-long message issue on ytube. If it persists,i'm sending you the translation via pm :)

  • Thanx for the lyrics, please send me translation also.

  • Well,I would but like I said, there must be an unofficial character limit on youtube that I'm not aware of,cause it won't let me post comments longer than say,2 phrases.

I can send the translation through a message, should you agree to it.That's how I've managed to get it through to leanyzo84,anyway :)

  • Yes, i meant through a message. Send me PM please, than i can put text with translation to video info.

  • By the way,can you translate? I understand words, but not all the meaning.

  • I need the text! And a translation into ENglish.I'm dying for this music:)

  • Mamaliga branzali Ta li da di la la Sokerelo barbali Da ri ra ra Ai mo romane Hai mucea-n vale Ai mo romane Hai mucea-n vale Mamaliga lapte acru Ta ri ra ri ra ra S-o-mbatat Petrea saracu Ta ri ra ra
  • The text is part of the transylvanian folklore, although because of the many (poor,I mught add) "remixes" made by certain gypsy musicants,it is often considered to be a traditional Gypsy song.

The lyrics are partly in Rromani language (that's the language spoken by gypsies in the Balkans),partly in Romanian. The majority of words are nonetheless in Romanian, which just goes to prove my point from the first paragraph.

  • Mamaliga branzali,

    Aaai mo/le chaval!e

    Aai Rromalenca,

    Aai chavalenca!

  • Mamaliga lapte acru, *Ai Devla,te merau!* S-o-mbatat Petrea, saracu' *Ai te merau!* x2 Chorus: Aaai.... Mamaliga lapte dulce, *Ai Devla,te merau!* De la birt nu s-ar mai duce *Ai te merau!*
