a wii emulator called dolphin emulator allows u to run wii isos and gc isos with bo prob if ur computer has ok specs. look into it dude. not only can u play brawl u can texture hack too.

Try to put your wii back to 4.1,remove all hack (save them on your sd card ) and then ask nintendo assistance

That's exacatly the same thing that happened to me I was so mad and I thought I just have to erase my data then I ended up losing every single data I had and it still didnt work

i have the same problem and i never hacked or modified my wii, i was happilly playing brawl, then i moved my wii to another room, and suddenly appear this problem, i was thinking that the lens its fucked up, im so sad, but what can i do??? if anyone know how to fix it please tell

did you try the game with or without codes on and have u tried downgrading your wii or instead of gecko os use ocarina

This is a problem that occurs to non wii hackers as well you know............so yeah, its a hardware problem.

If you have a portable hard drive or a USB drive you can put games on there and play them through the USB Forwarder. No need for CD's or anything. Just an SD card and a Wii. And If I'm correct, you can use Gecko OS codes on forwarder as well.

Depending on how he hacked it, could he not just remove the channel and transfer it to his SD card? It would be quite easy to remove the channels, its a small sacrifice.. lol if he has the shit in folders on his computer it shouldn't be a problem. HE said he cant read games, it doesn't mean his wii can't turn on and do that.

Have you tried running normal US games through Gecko OS, even if you don't need to? Before when I had another Wii, the Wii lense was messed up, but it read games better when running them through Gecko OS. Force the game mode in NTSC-US, even if it already is a US game.
