  • The most tallest bridge in the world is the viaduc of Millau in the south of the France. He is most tallest than the Eiffel Tower of Paris!!!

  • Hell, how does Texas get money to make all the good stuff California dosen't have?

  • @fhebert12 no it wasn't coach Thacker but I know who you are talking about.

  • @devilwithnosocks That is so funny!

  • The Rainbow Bridge is actually outside the city of Bridge City, which was completely flooded by Hurricane Ike. Only 14 homes in the entire city were spared.

  • The Rainbow Bridge, I was aware of, but I never knew about the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

I'm going to assume that the Rainbow Bridge once carried 2-way traffic, since the Veterans Memorial Bridge looks like it was recently constructed?

  • yes the rainbow bridge use to serve as 2 way traffic untill 1990 .. how ever when they build the new veterans memorial .. they changes the older bridge to carry west travel only . and the veterans to carry east traffic .. however they obviously built the new bridge to 1 day carry both directions , because that bridge was built in the mid 30s and completed in 1938

  • Very cool! I've seen many postcards of the old (Rainbow" Bridge, great stuff!

Was shocked to see the 60MPH Speed Limit for it too.

  • is board central very high!!

I suppose traffic of big ships under the bridge.

  • yes according to wikipedia it was built for the biuggest usnaval ship to go under .. but it never did .. but ya big ships do go through this to access beaumont , and port neches tx port areas .. its the 4th largest in the United States

  • this area is also the biggest military port in the united states

  • Cool video. That Rainbow Bridge is pretty steep on both sides, as is the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
