@thedemonsasuke It took an hour to make the snow-pile and an hour to dig it out. It was big enough for only one of us, but was almost big enough for two.
You made your quinzee exactly the same way me and my pals did it lolz a person when inside with one of those garderning plows and dug out snow while I dug the snow out and either put it on cracks or a place where it needed snow
If the sticks are 30cm long and you stop digging whenever you expose the end of one, the result will be walls that are 30cm thick, which is just right.
so basically: you get a big pile of snow, shape it, put sticks in the top and dig the middle of it out? that seems easy enough :) x

How long did it take and could it fit you and Chad?

Me and my roommates built a huge quinzee in our backyard, I was wondering if anyone knew how big you can build it without the snow being too heavy.
HINT: Use the tarp to drag snow out of the igloo and pour it on top or on the sides.

Don't put snow on top. It will become too heavy, and if it collapses it could pin you down and smother you.

this is actually a small one i like to build them so i can sit up and it can house about 4 people.

Quinzees big enough for 4 people can be difficult to get warm enough.

If we made the door any smaller, no way could Chad get inside it.
