  • Beautiful work!

  • Very nice. I like it. :D Thank you. XX

  • Great work

  • Hi Steve, you are a wonderful mosaic artist, so great!

  • some nice works here ;-)

  • What's the music?

  • can i ask you how you cut your tile? Do you score it, then break it as one would a piece of stained glass?

  • Yes score and snap method.

All our work is stained glass.

  • Interesting. since no light is coming through (or is it) wouldnt this look about the same as tile? I assume you are using grout and not solder etc?

  • Ok I see the confusion. Stained glass mosaic is laid on a solid background.. Leadlight is constructed using came. A mosaic artist when selecting stained glass puts it down on a flat surface to see the color. A leadlighter will hold it up to the light to see the color that passes through it.

  • Thanks. You know of any good resources for me to learn more? I really want to start doing both this and stained glass. Just worried about the solder fumes. I saw some pieces recently that looked like it was using grout instead of solder because it was hung, and you could see through it. Was this mounted on a clear piece of glass and it just looked that way? Grout is not strong enough to support a tile piece or stained glass piece to be hung. It must be mounted on something yes?

  • Mosaic in its contemporary form can be applied to just about anything. What part of the world are you in and I'll give you some contacts to find out more.

  • I'm in Burlington VT . Thanks . I've been collecting broken pottery (or cool looking mugs/plates with vibrant glazes, but I'm finding that the white shows a lot on the edges when you break a mug with a hammer heh I"ll need a grinder and saw probably, I have never done it, but I'm good with art projects, and I had an epiphany in the shower that tile mosaics might be the best thing for my style of stark figures with bold lines. ..

  • was trying to figure out if my lines were bold enough to require black tile, ore just use thick (wide) grout lines. Stained glass looks promising too. But tiles is what interests me right now. thanks

  • Great work.

  • Good work. Keep it up.

  • Awesome pieces, I am humbled by your patience! :)
