And Christy Moore once had the cheek to say, "I think Luke ran out of steam in The Dubliners as a singer. I've heard tapes of him singing as a younger man and he was wonderfu". For fucks sake, the mans on his deathbed here and he still has the most amazin male voice in irish music.
@tommyanthonymcgee Christy is a fraud, an honest fraud, because he thinks he has something that appeals to the masses, once you are appealing, then you have lost the rawness that is required to be the man that moistens the eyes of the hardest docker, ever tried to smile, while holding down a couple of gallons, cos he couldn't get a ride.
@buglerdan Same here, sadly he died before I was born, but I was brought up around his music throughout my childhood and it has stuck with me now I'm at university. Luke Kelly is so amazingly talented, I'm yet to hear anyone who can convey so much emotion
@buglerdan You can still see his brother whio I met and heard in Bewley just before Christmas, not as good but that rawness is in him aswell.I'll stick up the video soon.

I'm intrigued by this picture of Luke; I take it he played the fiddle. Did he play at concerts or on the Dubliners' CDs? A supreme talent. x
