  • awesome video !!!

  • +1 on using Sea Foam. That stuff works great!

  • take carb spray and clean the piss out of it

  • carb need to be rebuilt and clean very throughly

  • Sounds like that lean tecumseh hunting at the end.

  • EVERY Tecumseh I have ever worked on that does not start has a carb that looks like that inside. People don't drain the fuel out of them and then they put it away and wonder why the engine won't start. I don't care what people say about tecumseh engines they always run for me (after I clean the two year old fuel out of the carb lol). I have a 9 horse 4 cycle that's 8 years old and it runs like a top and a 3.25 horse 2 cycle that I found in the garbage and it also runs like a top.

  • take the carb out, i makes it alot better to clean it.

  • This was kinda painful to watch, but at least there was good sealed connections at the starter switch, lol.

  • carbs suck.

    use stabil

  • Guy in red talks to much

    Lol

  • i could fix it for ya

  • Put a fuel filter on it. I have had the metal bolts that go into the tank rust and little bits of metal get inthe carb and hold the needle open. Clean tank and install fuel filter. Also check the level the float is set to.

  • I think I have the exact same model.

    Yep, got it for free.

Yes, the elecrtric start has a thermal

shutdown....it doesn't help in starting anyway. Found that spraying starting fluid (heptane) into the carb intake is the only thing that works. Had the gasoline leak, too.

What did you do about that??

  • my step dad sent it to a small engine guy who rebuilt the carb even though i told him i could probably do it and when we got it back it still leaked fuel haha

  • Maybe your carb could have a bad float. I trash picked a Simplicity blower last spring that leaked gas from the carb, and it turned out the float had a hole in it. What you do is take the float, and dunk it in a cup full of gas. Then when you shake the float up to your ear their should be no swishing sounds. If their is a swishing sound the float is bad. New floats are available from Ebay for cheap, and adjust the float height using an 11/64 drill bit.

  • thanks for the info

  • I got one for free too exactly like that, ariens 5 horse. good running machines

  • Nice job guys. Try a little Sea Foam in it. Get her fixed up and do another video of her. Again, nice job!

  • Hmm, I thought you actually worked on your stuff, oh well, nice video :D

  • i do but its my step dad's so he did all the work

  • Oh, Sorry (:
