Why the hell is Van so goodlooking?

Allen is nice too, but more in a stereotypical way. At least, that's the vibe I've been getting.

It could be a comparison style. Like in the first episode how it opened like a stereotypical High school anime but then dove into a scifi piece. It makes viewers appreciate the series more almost saying "Well it could of just been another High school drama, you know." That works well with characters, they made Van a flexing character instead of a cute but mean protagonist. He was rude at first but then came around as the show progressed. Bleh, sorry ranting again. XD

And a reverse harem is when the leading female character has many love interests that revolve around the story. A regular harem would be like Tenchi Muyo, Shuffle, or Negima, a reverse is like Ouran Host Club. I wouldn't call this one a harem because there are really just 2 interests involved
