I'm kind of surprised that I didn't feel anything. I live in Mississauga, very close to the lake. For people who don't know why this is a big deal, it's because we rarely get earthquakes up here, especially a 5.5 magnitude one. This isn't California where they happen every day, they happen about every 20 years or longer (and a lot of us on youtube/social media sites are around the age where we have never experienced an earthquake before).

God I hate living in Toronto, over exaggerate EVERYTHING. I didn't feel a thing, also even if I didn't I have models that if you tap the desk they are on they will fall.

First of all it was a 5.5 near the Quebec border , it was just a little rumble by the time it got to the GTA, and earth quakes like this happen in that area roughly every 20 or so years

yeah i agree you know something is going on with the earth when canada gets a 5.5 magnitude earthquake. No worries though about 2012 or anything . The world wont end. Theve been saying this for a while now but we might get worse and worse storms.

For people who don't know why this is a big deal, it's because we rarely get earthquakes up here, especially a 5.5 magnitude one. This isn't California where they happen every day, they happen about every 20 years or longer (and a lot of us on youtube/social media sites are around the age where we have never experienced an earthquake before).

@bubblywums very true... i do know that we do have earthquakes , but they are small enough that they go unnoticed, and usually stay up near ottawa. lol... they also say now that that weakness in the crust where the earthquake happened will likely produce a massive earthquake that will do significant damage and destruction to many parts of canada and the usa. some of the most densily populated areas too

@adminoperator LOttawa gets Earthquakes 3-4 times a year. They are very small but they still get them often. this however was much stronger obviously but still they get them often.

I think all the "hype" was I am sure 95% of Canadians have never felt an earthquake before. So I am sure we were all amazed at what it felt like. Like I was. Although it was only like 0.5 where I was. It was cool to have my chair move. I thought my house was haunted.
