In my defense i'm not saying David is a bad artist. He's magnificent. I'm just saying this particular solo isn't that great. He has other solos that blow this one away..

I don't know. The guy is a master at creating a beat that goes off by itself while staying with the music, but this is one of the solos of his that I'm not particularly happy about.  Too many repeats of the same thing and the ending was bad.

And before somebody goes off and tells me I couldn't do it, yes I could. I am a 25 year percussion veteran. My style is not like David's and he is still very exceptional.. just this particular solo was definitely not one of his best ones.

Had the privilege of playing with him one time many years ago -- an experience I will never forgot. He just gets better and better and better year after year. Amazing.

Dear David, You're magic dude. You should always share drum solos with the other soloists in the band. In my opinion you are one of the greatest exponents of MUSIC, let alone the drumming side of things. That's obvious. You had a marvelous series at one time in "Modern Drummer" magazine.
