newkdf03 you are correct you were disqualified because your guitar player swore at a chaperone who refused to let him carry his ampeg gemini amp through a particular door. But I loved that big bass drum

Tonight, going through old papers I found a ticket for the 1969 New Year's Eve Bower Hill Dance with "Phillipe" and Rebecca & the Sunnybrook Farmers. Thanks for posting this song, I definitely remember it!
The "Battle of the Bands" was at Baldwin High School. Our band was the Midnight Ryders. Other groups there were Children of Stone and Light. Did you play at the dance in the William Penn Ballroom?
Oh my, thank you, so much for posting this song, it's really mindblowing, I fucking love this sound, it's so so great, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I couldn't find it anywhere! You are great!
we need a music revolution right now

Ilene Rappaport used to put her recorder right up close to a microphone and she produced the most eerie, penetrating and fascinating sounds.
I listened for that sound on the album, but never found it. Of course it is hard to duplicate a live sound on a recording.
I still have this album on vinyl, but no longer have a turntable. Thanks for posting all these "Rebecca & The Sunnybrook Farmer's" songs on YouTube.

Great Pittsburgh band. Our band actually beat them in a Battle of the Bands back in 1968 or so.

@newkdf03
i was in this group...
i actually don't remember ever being beaten in a battle of the bands....
There was one time when we were disqualified (don't remember why...?) at Mt Lebanon High School's B.O.T.B.
Was that the time?

Is it just me, or does the section starting at about 2:30 bear a striking resemblance to the middle part of Chop Suey by System of a Down?

I saw this band twice and they were really great live! I would love to have some live recordings.. They did some songs that weren't on this album.
