Can somone explain the meaning of this song. He's praying for his friend but at the end hes really praying for himself?

@Tmack116 There's more than one potential way to understand it. One is that he was lying to God (and himself) by saying he's speaking about a friend, but he's really speaking about and praying for himself. Another is that a friend is going through the same thing he is. Another is to not take it literally and to understand to mean that we are all potentially prone to such things. Another is that we are really all one in Him. I love it; levels of interpretation.
