Your narrow view on "culture" is what is creating hate and lack of acceptance to other children of God, you can't "cure" gay. You can how ever learn to accept other peoples  choices to love. the suppression of homosexuality is never a good one , some end up in suicide, others on closeted lives that call for hidden sexual experiences that call for cheating and lying.
