  • Glee Brought Me Here

  • Nope. Not too many voices like her's around anymore. Today, it's just G-strings, shaved heads, and 5 pounds of make-up on stage. (NOT THAT I'M AGAINST ANY OF THAT !!!!!!)

  • It was in '69 this came out there Mr. Host! :) Such a lovely singer!

  • No equal.. Amazing !!!

  • so beautiful...both physically and musically. compare THIS to female "singers" of today....

  • What a stunning woman. Breathtaking talent and beauty.

  • @bobjones726 So true !!

  • Marilyn is the definition of beauty, class, and elegance that is unmatched by anyone today!!!

  • This is an example of being as "good as it gets".

  • What a classy dame!

  • @Ronhart89 - it's one of the little oddities of rock that she sang this with the 5th Dimension to Billy Davis Jr.... and they have been married 40-odd years now...

  • And, by the way, what in the world is wrong with Bill?? Wake up, man! :)

  • Wow. I remember her as a youngster singing this, and I'm even more stunned today. Beautiful, talented, classy. Takes your breath away. I wish the performers of today could watch this video and learn how to truly perform. What a gorgeous woman.

  • This song and One Less Bell to Answer are true classics! The best of the best.

  • aw Andy Gibb! plus a good song~!

  • Not only can she sing great, but she is a Knockout. BD is a lucky dude.

  • I agree totally with Franiesmama!! Very well said!!

  • I am glad so many people - of any color - voted thumbs down on lid107's comment so now it is hidden. That comment from lid107 was really trashy, mean and uncalled for. Marilyn is a beautiful woman, so classy, pretty and talented. Marilyn doesn't need a prompter, she knows the songs inside and out. Lid is probably jealous of MM's natural talent and beauty.

  • The single best female voice ever. I love her.

  • What, no drugs, seedy divorces, affairs, children by multiple men??? How did she ever become famous? Talent, strong, beautiful talent.

  • Marilyn McCoo is one of the most talented, beautiful, classy ladies ever. I admire her long enduring marriage to Billy Davis. She's matured like fine wine.

  • superb!!!!!

  • And what does this song have to do with the president? And what does the racial slur have to do with anything? No class, just trash.

  • Get a life trash bag. #1...she is not looking at a teleprompter...she is following the camera so that she does not fall off the friggin stage....and I know enough about singing to know that there is no lip sincing here. And was the "n" word really necessary? Like I said below in my post days ago.....was and is a class act. Oh...and by the way.....I am white.....just sayin.....

  • @lid107 I think our current president is horrible, but how dare you smear everybody of his race.

  • What a class act!!! Georgous woman...phenominal voice...nothing like it today......

  • love to get me some of that

  • When I first saw her as a teenager in the 60's I was in love, when I saw her through the 70's and 80's I was in love, when I look at these video's I'm still in love with one of the most beautiful women ever, with one of the most beautiful voices ever!

  • Trish <3, I love you.

  • She is definately one of a kind. Voice like an angel and stunning beauty. She is truly a class act. They don't make them like her anymore.

  • A classic Beauty!! Marilyn has one of the best voices of all the female singers who came out!!

  • One of the sexiest singers of all time...and yet classy all the way. Some have done it as well, but no one ever did it better. Thanks for the memories!

  • Marilyn is not only gorgeous, but soooo Classy too - unlike all those unclassy female singers we're stuck with today (you know the ones... Brittany, Rihanna, Madonna, Gaga). Marilyn's voice, poise, grace, beauty are enough - she doesn't need skimpy outfits or gimmicky "meat" dresses and cone bras to shine through. Take me back to Marilyn anyday!

  • @franciesmama

If you actually have a voice you don't have to perform circus acts and striptease routines to sell music. These singers today don't have any talent. All of them sing out of tune and off key. So they have to perform circus acts to keep the audience entertained and to take their minds off of how bad they sound.

  • @franciesmama you are right.

  • Such a beautifull woman ! Great singer too; have followed her career since the days of the 5th Dimension.

  • Tremendous range and power and she is really good looking!!!!

  • Great tunes and what a beauty.....

  • Simply beautiful.

  • I love Marilyn McCoo! :)

  • In her prime, there wasn't a note she couldn't hit perfectly. Range is extraordinary. Marilyn's voice gets any male totally worked up. Not Barbara, not Beyonce, not Whitney can compare in all qualities including class.

  • @honest4sure She was the best female singer of all time. Just because she doesn't run her mouth off like the rest of them, no one knows who she is anymore. And that's a shame.

  • @honest4sure agreed, these days singers like to show off going up and down and around the scales. Hardly anyone just sings straight anymore. Give me Marilyn, here, and Karen Carpenter any day over Beyonce, etc. They didn't show off because they didn't have to.

  • @honest4sure: honest4sure you are so right an extraordinary voice then and now. and you are also right Barbara, Beyonce and Whitney can not stand up to her voice

    Mr. Heaven33

  • did you know that victoria principal MURDERED Andy Gibb?

  • this is one of my favourite songs of all time i was only 9 when this came out and its always stayed with me as ive gotten older still love it and shes a fantastic singer......

  • @jackiemaree1 I know what you mean, I was 5 and I still know all of the lyrics.

  • An Angel sent to Earth to tempt us with the rewards of Heaven

  • What a beautiful women..wow !...stunning voice too.

  • Wow! What a lady!

at 1:12 her eyes twinkle and her beautiful face pouts, only for a second, making my heart leap! wish my name was Bill!

She is still very beautiful and talented. A real treasure!

  • I think I'm in L-O-V-E ! Thanks Marilyn and thanks Laura

  • Now that's a bloody voice. Smooth as silk.

  • As David Soul would say" :Don't give up on us, baby!"

  • What a beautiful and classy lady !!!

  • I look at you and see the passion eyes of May...

  • Oooh I could just watch & listen to her all day!

  • She sang with such passion that it is timeless. Wonder if Britney spears "Circus" or Pink "Raise your glass" will still be played 35 years from now. My how things have changed...

  • FLAWLESS 5D rules

  • seen the original group at old Memorial Stadium. they were fantastic, Up Up n Away

  • Thanks. The current crop of lil' bitches and ho's could sure learn from this gal.

  • @gboldizar No- their PARENTS should learn from this how to raise a lady. One who expects to be treated with respect because she comports herself with great dignity. AND KNOWS HOW TO ACTUALLY SING!!!

  • Thank you mccoofan for all your uploads. Grew up listening to the fifth dimension so this brings back great memories. Marilyn is greatest female vocalist ever!!

  • Wow! This beautiful Laura Nyro song never sounded better. RIP Laura, you are missed.

  • Classy is not good enough to describe her.

  • MMMMMMMMMMMGood.

  • AWW ANDY GIBB, SUCH A SHAME TO BE GONE AT AN EARLY AGE.. HOW IRONIC, MARILYN MCOO WOUND UP HOSTING SOLID GOLD LATER ON...

  • @d1malcriao she was also hosting this show with Andy this day

  • Does anybody else get dry mouth and weak knees watching this?

What an incredible combination of class, talent and sexiness. Was Bill blind, deaf and dumb?? LOL

  • What a wonderful and amazing voice.

  • Someone goofed, Andy! "Wedding Bell Blues" was on the charts in late 1969, not the 1970's. In fact, I bought the record (and still have it) in November 1969. The other side (Soul City) is "Lovin' Stew".

  • Man, what a knockout she is. Talent, beauty and class.

  • OMG! Marilyn McCoo has got to be one of the most beautiful African American women to have ever graced this planet!! She has the most incredible voice and the most incredible heart for God as well!!! Thanks Marilyn!! :-)

  • OK, my name isn't Bill and I was 10 when she sang this originally but this is one sexy lady! I love Marilyn! I guess I'll just get in line with all the other wannabees!

  • song is One Less Bell to Answer and that's the original Fifth Dimension line-up..

anyone who grew up in the late 60's remembers the beautiful harmony of the

5th Dimension.. as many classics as anyone of the era...and a couple of monster

    hits like Aquarius...

  • Damn, this brings back some good old memories of when I was a kid and used to listen to this on AM radio in my mother's old station wagon....

  • What an utter JOY to hear! Have ALWAYS loved Ms McCoo's angelic voice & this classic Laura Nyro-penned ballad. This is the first time I've heard her sing it without the backup of the Fifth Dimension. She is one gifted performer...and one beautiful lady...her long & happy marriage to Billy Davis Jr is such an inspiration! THANK YOU for posting this delightful "blast from the past"!!! :)

  • This song, this song what can I say, is etched in my memory forever. It is sad that after all these years of listening to hit musics all around, the group was never boosted to popularity as comtemporary groups at the time. However, I'm floored by the hits that this group had made especially too "One Less Bell to Answer.". Thanks for having this package online.

  • she pulls my heart strings!

  • the crazy thing (or not so much maybe) is that she sounds exactly as she did back in 1969 when she performed this song with the 5th dimension...and when was this show? 1981? Crazy!!!!

  • Class song/voice/lady has stood the test of time...10/10

  • eat your heart out beyonce

  • Damn! She nails it! Great job Marilyn. Marry Me!

  • I like this version the best out of all her versions. The warmth in her voice, phrasing, music, the look in her eyes, the way she moves around the stage, her outfit, her hair. You can tell right from the beginning that she is so into singing it and knows she's going blow the audience away and really does. Maybe it is the stage in her career or whatever. I can't explain it. I keep coming back to this one. She sounds and looks incredible here

  • @tubiebrother ...I know, I can't stop watching this either!

I had no idea who Marilyn McCoo was when I used to watch Solid Gold because I was just a kid, I was terribly annoyed when she would sing the no. 7 song or whatever because I wanted the originals! Some years later I realized she was a star in her own right but never paid any attention to her until this last week when my roommate wouldn't stop singing one of her songs.

Wow--she really is talented! And this is a great performance.

  • I love this woman so much. Reminds me of a much simpler time. Life was easy, and even as a young white boy, I loved this wonderful woman.

  • They don't make music like that anymore. What a shame. She is so awesome. I have always loved that song.

  • Class act, beauty and song at its best. Sing on.....

  • awsome.....enough said!

  • she has a good voice

  • Great singers great song. gracias por tu musica marilyn..

  • Oh yeah, Natalie Cole was suspended for two years for failing her routine drug test.

  • Bracketology: In my Classic Rock Female Vocalists Final Four, I've got Marilyn McCoo v. Yvonne Elliman and Elaine Spanky McFarlane going against Dusty Springfield.

  • i love this song.....

  • how many so called artists can sound so good live today ,this woman is a true artist

  • OK, I know I've said a lot about how great Marilyn's voice was but I guess I must come straight, I also thought she was so beautiful and I'm 16 years younger but I don't think that makes a difference. Shel a beautiful singer and beautiful.

  • wow, what a gorgeous woman.

  • is this really 2008 , wow she has taken such great care of herself. a role model for beauty and voice..... Liza Szabo

  • @bornloviong It's 1981,or '82.Look at the info,that's what it reads.But,I agree.She looks and sounds great!

  • class act.

  • A phenomenal voice-absolutely powerful!! She is responsible for the 5ths success!!

  • Outstanding! Song and singer... aww the memories...

    Thanks for sharing

  • Marilyn McCoo has always had such a beautiful voice! This is a beautiful song!

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr I think that in my book she is the best female vocalist of all time. Her rendering of One Less Bell To Answer and If I Could Reach You, without any other examples should get her that nod. And to think they had to originally talk her into taking the lead vocals...

  • @pilesovinyl No arguments from me. I've listened to Marilyn McCoo since I was a little boy, and she has just an an amazing and beautiful and powerful voice.

  • Great performance and nice to hear Marilyn doing it live. The 5D were notorious for lip-syncing on all their television appearances.

And of course, she's a doll!!

  • Extremely sexy woman. Never thought Bill deserved her. But she looks like shw wasn't having it any other way.

  • Andy Gibb has been dead for so long! this made me sad with him doing the intro...

  • She's always looked great, and, man, does she know how to deliver a tune.

  • Prettier as a mature woman than when she initially recorded this song.

  • WOW What a babe! I love her!

  • LOVE YOU MM

  • What a beautiful, vivacious woman!

  • Marilyn is a fave after Diana Ross for me. :)

  • when i hear this version i feel something is missing and its the rest of them i just hate change

  • Never flashy...ALWAYS classy and beautiful...

  • Was fortunate to see her perform in Vicksburg at a casino boat. ... Great voice ... and pretty woman

  • A tribute to a true diva! :)

  • shes great but show itself was very enterainting ofcourse due to those dancers, wonder if any of them went on to something bigger.

  • Though the song is from the 60s, this version definitely has an early-80s spin on it. Cool.

  • Brilliant. Thank you.

  • Pure elegance in all facets.

  • The consummate singer. Love her interpretations and performance of songs. Thanks for posting.

  • Marilyn has one of show biz's most beautiful voices....and she's a VERY attractive lady. I've always loved this song...and she does an exquisite job with it! Too bad her co-host (Andy Gibb) met an early death due to drug abuse. THANKS for sharing this delightful gem with us! And HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you & yours!

  • CLASSY!

  • Her voice is flawless.

  • She is pretty great. Transcends the barriers of time. I still have very fond memories of a childhood where Solid Gold was the only music show in town. Go Marilyn.

  • A great singer like Marilyn only gets better with time. And a great beauty like Marilyn only looks better with time. Wow and wow.

  • One of the sweetest things my eyes have ever beheld.

  • still can hit high notes!

  • I always had a crush on Marilyn McCoo. And I'm white. Thanks for this. After watching it -- I still do.

  • @louparte1

"and I'm white" that says a lot about u.

  • @kennyhez

Exactly, why did he have to say that. As if, there are only a few attractive black women. Or as if, him being white means it's something special, because he is crushing on Marilyn McCoo.

  • Voice, beauty, class-she has it all. And, 40 years of marriage to boot. What a wonderful lady and a role model

  • Listen to how pure and beautiful her voice is. She hits every note as smoothly and naturally as the day she recorded it....what a great performance this was.

  • Such a talented pretty woman.

    Great song!

  • My favorite song from Marylin.Beautiful.

  • one of the most under appreciated female vocalists of our time .. Thnx for 40 womderful years !

  • She was and still is a very beautiful woman and the essence of class. Her voice is still fantastic. She has always been one of my favorite woman singers.

  • Her amazing voice had not changed a bit, still hitting those high notes, and note the jazzy ending!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, this lady is as beautiful as Halle Berry! I suspect she sings a bit better though.. GREAT pipes!

  • Bill was very STUPID !!!!

  • Thanks for this and all your other great posts!

  • Lovely song, beautiful woman, super voice, and great video. A class act all the way around. Thanks for sharing.

  • Marilyn, is the total package, of enduring, talent, beauty, and class. I saw her in Atalntic City about 10 years ago, and she still sounded great and looked as hot as ever. Sorry gold, she was singing to me...:)

  • I think she was singing to me.

Originally saw her when she was a late replacement for Tina Turner at a concert. Fell in love with that voice immediately. I wonder if she can cook?

  • @1heavygold you want her to marry you and be your fullfilling lover eternally and still she has to cook well. Come on, be a man and stop demanding!!! Learn to cook!!! ;)

  • @1heavygold Ask Billy Davis Jr. She must be a heckuva cook, they've been married somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 years.

  • @1heavygold She can cook...but not for you

  • To me, this is one of the most beautiful ladies that God ever put on this earth and her voice is, well, heavenly!

  • i agree

  • That is one pretty lady.

  • Last time I saw her was at the Old Lakewood Church , she is a christian .

  • Great song and brilliant performer. I remember this show and Marilyn McCoo co-hosted it for a while. Used to love it.

  • I was a young white kid growing up in the 'burbs when this song came out. And since my name is mentioned in the song over and over and over, naturally I thought Marilyn McCoo was singing to me...wasn't she ? I mean, she was every kid's crush (especially if you were 13 and named BILL) ! And this video proves she was smokin' hot !!!! Classy lady ! Classy voice.... aaahhhhh!

  • Always beautiful, looking extra hot here, and the voice, well forget it, there`s nobody that sings like her. Nobody.

  • What a classy, charming, beautiful, talented woman. I'm mesmerized!

  • I grew up worshiping this woman and the fifth dimension. even though i was only 8 years old when " one less bell to

answer" came out this young whiteboy appreciated this fine sister.

  • WOW!!! Enough said!

  • When TV was still TV!

  • Live music now is fucking awful in comparrison to this

  • No one today can compare..I love this woman.

  • I love this woman and miss those Solid Gold days.

  • Get some class, idiot.

  • Actually it was a virus that attacked his heart.

  • Marilyn McCoo possesses the finest female voice to ever grace a stage, we should all thank God for this gift named marilyn McCoo

  • Beauty, Talent, and Class

  • Wow she is so fine! Kinda like a dream.....elegance displayed.

  • Was that Andy Rooney introducing them??

  • Andy Gibb...there's Rooney..WTF!! !
