This is exactly what Zbrush always should have been! I dont want to even think about polygons, I want to sculpt a claylike substance. I really cant wait to enter this next generation of true digital sculpting :)
@i7zan That guy worked only within the 3D Studio for DOS many years ago. This video made him sick. Just kidding, actually I think it was someone's accidental dislike )))
that's a really cool way to rough out the shape, and would free me up at the concept stage, but as others have noted, retopo in zbrush is a real problem. Good topo is still necessary for the other end of the pipeline.
@MrMemag Yeah, I really can't believe with how amazing Pixo is, that they can't make some auto-topo feature. Like, draw a few lines where you want main divisions to be, and Zbrush will do the rest.
Could someone please explain in more explicit detail what is going on here? Is the poly count dynamically adjusting to the level of detail created on the mesh?
Some day we will look back at ZBrush 4 and laugh about how we needed to make "armatures" out of ZSpheres. As always Pixologic keeps innovating and moving forward.
@rols574 I think it was just an alpha in combiniation with drag brush and strong z-intensity which he used to get the profile, then masked some parts out and pulled everything into proporiton.
Great addition to Zbrush, I am a Mudbox user and recently started to use Sculptris. Now that zbrush has ported the sculptris tech to this new clay time feature, I think I might give zbrush a try :)
For those that don't know about sculptris its a free digital sculpting program that emulates clay very nicely, with the software and developer was acquired by pixology, but you can still download sculptris for free from Zbrush central :) any release dates on the R2?

Pixologic should think about buying topogun. Zbrush just keeps getting better by leaps and bounds.

Sure I love this in Zbrush, but it's not groundbreaking anymore.
Hope they take a look at 3dcoat, but in the retopo department this time.

Buy it, use it, sculpt it, stretch it, pull it, rake it, smooth and paint it. Pixologic. Pixologic.

@xeno3d
That is one of the default zbrush skin materials that was released with Zbrush 4. The artist give it a slight tan/red tint.
