Marburg is almost identical to Ebola in every way except in lethality. Marburg and Ebola are literally in the same virus class and their RNA protein chains are so similar it's Eerie, There are IR and overlap points between each of their 7 identical proteins, Marburg has an IR point between VP35 and VP40 proteins while Ebola has an overlap, and the IR and Overlap points on VP30 is reversed between the two. Other than that, from family, to appearance, to how they kill, they are the same.

It's lethality ranges from 23 to 90% and Ebolas ranged from 40-90% with no cross protection, meaning if you get one and survive, you can still get the other even though they are pretty much identical. Interestingly enough both viruses have been confirmed to be at least ten million years old. Both Viruses have been confirmed to be transmitted by primary or secondary contact with fruit bats.

Most of the infected in this outbreak(as well as their families) caused problems for the doctors providing treatment. It's a common theme in third world viral outbreaks. The doctors and nurses are choosing to put themselves in harms way. A most admirable and selfless act indeed.

I think my point still stands. Think about it if we can advanced so far as to populate other worlds easily - Im fairly sure we can adapt and overcome issues from other enviornments. Lets say worst case scenario 1 planet gets unexpectedly fucked we're still on plenty more :)

You're stating that extinction is a natural process of life here but there are plenty of animals and creatures still alive that have been on the earth since its primordial stages (ancient bacteria) and they still thrive. Evolution will always exist as long as we do. I am thinking of other creatures - in 10,000 years or longer im sure we can co-exist with the few new ones that we find, that or eat them for food :)
