He was no slave of Mao. He protected the Potala place in Lhasa (Tibet) and the Imperial Palace in Beijing at the height of the Cultural Revolution. Also he and Kissinger help pave the road for Sino/US relations. Besides Mao was the one who place China back in power although he didnt know how to manage the country. During the Corean War the US and its UN allies could not defeat a peasant army from Mao. It drew a stalemate, now is that not a shame for a so call Superpower (US)?
