Oh brother! It's a darn good thing that the Andrews Sisters already had a really solid, successful singing career before they made this horrifying appearance on film. The wigs, the outfits, and the song are all lousy! If this had been their one break, they'd never have gone anywhere, even with all their considerable talent.
In normal costumes, with a good song, they're smashes. Just watch "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and see. Good thing they had more movie opportunities later.

A terrible song in an even worse film, this serves as a sad exampleof how Universal misused the enormous talents of these three great ladies. Compare this clip with their 1948 appearance in Paramount's "Road to Rio" & you'd think it was a different group altogether. It's a shame they weren't signed by MGM or Fox & given lavish sets & technicolor treatment. They're all wearing blonde wigs in this clip, by the way. John Sforza (Swing It! WTF? What's up with their costumes? What's up with the floral design on their fronts? Patty looks like a vamp and like Maxene, Maxene looks like a miniature version of Patty... LOL, sorry. LaVerne, seems obvious she can't dance like Maxene and Patty, sorry. But they are sooo wonderful, want to learn how to Harmonize like that. Gotta agree with chanse117.
The Sisters were devastated by the way they looked in this number and the film. "They made us look like the Ritz Brothers in drag," said Maxene, adding she walked all the way back to Manhattan from Brooklyn after seeing the film, weeping all the way.
Maxene was a good 4 inches shorter than Patty, the blonde wigs were just a gimmick, both Maxene and Patty were originally Brunettes, and people confused them
with Laverne and Maxene in blonde wigs, It is hard to tell Maxene and Patty apart, , i liked this number though, i am glad that this their first movie was posted
