  • The harpsichord and the creative use of wind instruments make this song so sublime,1967 was definitely the year of breakthrough of the harpsichord in pop music (Lady Jane) The Kinks , Love , Strawberry Alarm Clock and many other groups used this fantastic classical instrument.

  • i read somewhere that john lennon helped on the vocals to this.great drums.

  • I believe this was intended as a celebration for the birth of Keith & Anita's first child.

  • My son is scared of dandelions watch his video its funny. click my name and you'll see it. plz no negative comments he is only 4yrs and hopefully will get rid of this fear as he grows older. Thanks

  • @katiefaiez Why are you trolling around on this song's comments. Shopping for VIEWS to see your kid...Your music likes are:Justin Bieber songs and Rihanna cuz shes hot!...Lord, you do not deserve the STONES in your life...Go back to being a mom and teaching your kid not to pee in it's pants...

  • @1stSaintsFan I can care less how many views my kids video get its just that everytime he gets a comment thats nice I see the smile it brings him. My son was a premature and had complications resulting in a kidney failure. So if he has accidents I dont blame him since he has only 1 kidney. I only come to Youtube to ask people to comment when he is in the hospital and I read his comments to him. I never disrepected Stones so I dont know why your being rude.

  • @katiefaiez ...I stand corrected...You take care and may the both of you attend the Stones 60th anniversary concert.

  • @1stSaintsFan Thank you. My dad was a huge Stones fan and I grew up with their music. They are truly talented too bad people nowadays are mainly into songs that make no sense and are just funny or else legend like the Stones will be on the radio all the time so that the new generations can also pass it down to their kids.

  • @katiefaiez It's not just the music that don't make sense. I could give a laundry list!

  • Magic Song.

  • Very, Very Cool, Indeed. Thanks, so Much for this Superlative Post. You Rock. :)

  • Pay particular attention to the drumming on this song. It's remarkable. Charlie Watts pounds his way through as the rolls gets more intense, particularly during the instrumental portion and the ending. Contrast this to, say, Jumpin' Jack Flash, where his drumming is hardly noticeable.

  • @charlesalzamora you're right it sounds almost like a machine gun firing!

  • this song right here, is one that makes me miss the 60s soooo friggin much!

  • I miss my purple hearts from 64 ,light and bitter at 2 shillings, but still have the Stones.

    sixtiespete

  • I so miss 1967...and "Hush" was IMO the best Deep Purple song ever.

  • @eluap i believe that joe south wrote the song hush so its not really a deep purple song, but their cover does rock! id say highway star is their best

  • Everyone please quit nit picking, think about 1967 and how things where and the mood of the country and the young people of that time, thats what this is all about, flower power baby.

And it was better than now, trust me.

  • I love the Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger was the only Rock Star with courage enough to publicly Scold the Rock Audience for poor taste in Music in 1975! They should a build a Statue to him a Mile High for making Punk Rock possible, for actually summoning it into being! He is a Great Man. Thank you, Mick, I will never forget.

  • How can anyone even be THINKING about the Bee Gees at this late date!? Those clowns are in the R&R Hall of Shame!? Shame! Danny Fields, fire that stupid David Marsh, the Springsteen shill. And kill that old Queen Robert Hilburn, who likes everything Disgusting! Martin Landau, Mr. Chairman, you are truly out of your mind! Resign! Well at least that Supreme Asshole, Jim Morrison-hating ROBERT CHRISTGAU, isn't there!

  • I love The Who more than I can possibly say, The Beatles more than this even. But I love the Rolling Stones Too!

  • When you hear this beautiful song, you forget all about The Beatles and The Who! :)

  • @54markl The Stones deserve the title "Greatest Rock n Roll Band", although I think The Who. Greatest live band goes to The Who. Most popular goes to Led Zepplin. Most successful and influential is The Beatles. As far as longevity, The Who also was formed in 1962 but not as The Who. Cheers

  • everyone needs some dandelions

  • although this is a song about ritual human sacrifice, its still kinda nice

  • @Etek322 Nah, it's about Flowers.

  • Charlie's drumming's a bit more adventurous than usual. Fantastic song; the ending is lovely, too.

  • @LarryRickenbacker He's trying to imitate Keith Moon, who was Hot at this juncture.

  • The Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds of Rolling Stones .. great lyrics, out of this world music .. all LSD

  • Life was fun and magical back then.

  • the rolling stones are cool rock n roll originals. The bee gees are alright, but basically bubble gum music.

  • Lovely made video. The girls on trampoline - just so beautiful!

  • Brian on oboe.

  • I believe this song was originally intended as a celebration of the borth of Keith's first child, named Dandelion.

  • way cool !

  • blow away dandelion :)

  • why in gods name would anyomne compare the bee gees to the rolling stones??? The Stones are the greatest band ever and the bee gees helped destroy a decade with disco,

  • On that topic, I think all of the Disco artists currently in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame should be thrown out. Disco is NOT Rock 'n Roll. Let them have their own hall of fame. Arguably R&B (including Urban Contemporary, Soul, Funk, Rap, etc.) is NOT Rock 'n Roll, and there should be a separate Hall of Fame to accomodate them. Hendrix and the Chambers Brothers are Rock, Aretha Franklin and James Brown are not. There should be a Pop HOF, so Michael Jackson & Elton John can be somewhere else.

  • @54markl

Eddie Trunk calls it the "Hall Of Shame".

    I think he`s right.

Deep Purple are not in it yet.

  • @oberfour1 Well, I know millions of people like Deep Purple, I know they are supposed to have "started" Heavy Metal (wrong, Jimi Hendrix did), but I never liked them, because I think "Hush" is one of the stupidest songs I have ever heard! Sorry, but that's my opinion. :)

  • @54markl

Deep Purple should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame long ago.

If you dislike them thats cool with me.

No I don`t think Deep Purple started Heavy Metal. My guess would be either the MC5 or Iron Butterfly had more to do with Heavy Metal.

Black Sabbath could relate modern metal better than any other of that time.

  • @jbstonesfan trolololo

  • those bg vocals sure sound like john & paul-----think WE LOVE YOU.

Stones for me are best when most Beatlesque.

  • @okeyeye That was J&P providing background vocals. And you know it. Cheeky.

  • Bee Gees as good as the Stones you gotta be fucking kidding me?

  • @DanielJoseDiego They're not even good as Elton John, who is not very good.

  • Long live "Acid REIGN" !!!!

  • dandelion will make you wise<3 my favoite stones song.

  • A masterpiece. One of many from the World's Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band.

  • No matter who longest. Bee Gees never in my collection

  • Really nice video. Well done.

  • brian jones is alive and well in the minds of those who partook of the same medication he did why work just chill

  • probably my favorite stones song. what is this song about?

  • Thank You! :);)

  • Don't forget Pink Floyd 1963

  • @SpudIrish yeah but , but,,, but,, sad to say PF ain't around anymore. so.... :( Wish they were tho.

  • This song was about Keith Richards little girl. nicknamed Dandelion. Every father can relate.Stones still the greatest........

  • Everytime I hear this song I get goosebumps. Yea, its that good!

  • en esta cancion igual que en la de we love you tambien participaron john lennon y paul MCCartney en los coros?

  • @tampikosita no

  • @midnigthspecial2 algo asi lei en wikipedia

  • @tampikosita Yes, it is this single, "We Love You"/"Dandelion" on which Lennon and McCartney sing background vocals.

  • I always liked this song, although most of the 'Stones psychedelic stuff was inferior to their r&b and rock'n'roll classics imo.

  • love it so beautiful

  • This song gives me chills...Such a beauty! My God.

  • it's amazing how many great songs came out in 1967. and there i was sitting in my 2nd grade class.

  • Oddly, this is one of my favorite Stone songs. Not quite sure how to explain it!

  • This video matches the song to a T.

  • your video is nicely done

  • I remember getting a thrashed LP of Through the past darkly at a garage sale when I was a kid... still a hardcore stones fan over 20 years later haha!

    Brian!!

  • god i love the rolling stones

  • * * * * *

  • Great song Great Vid! thanks

  • 1967 THE YEAR OF THE FLOWER ,great year ,,sgt peppers ,,,are you experienced ,,,this song .Its a pitty i had 5 years old

  • Nice video...and one of my favorite Stones tunes...

  • I love this song!!!

  • Is it true that John Lennon and Paul McCartney contributed backing vocals? If you listen closely, you hear Lennon-esque vocals.

  • Grandiós àlbum! Their Satanic Majestic Request!

  • Source : Keno's ROLLING STONES Web Site

  • Excellent video, thanks. And nice having the lyrics too.

  • @TheBacmaster Well, excuse me! Nice work bacmaster!

  • What talent no other band like the stones

  • Nice video..did you make it? This song is pretty fine

  • Beautiful video.

    Thanks a lot.

    :)

  • this is my song!!!!

  • No dislikes, keep it at that! :D

  • thank you Brian

  • This song belonged on Their Satanic magesty's Request. I don't know why it was'nt on there along with "We Love You' Wikipedia will tell you,

  • @woodenthomas - "We Love You" wasn't on "Their Satanic Magesty's Request. It was released as a single, reaching #8, with "Dandelion" as the B-side. However, "Dandelion," was promoted as the A-side in the USA because it did better on the charts (#14); whereas, "We Love You" peaked at #50 in the USA. Take care! :)

  • What a great song! - why are there so few viewers on it???

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • Brilliant and amazing song off of a brilliant and amazing album. That album has to be the best rock and roll album that ever was or ever will be!

  • @guyNbluejeans It's breathtaking!

  • @KellyGreen5555 Ditto.;-)

  • It's funny. Back in the sixties they could write songs about anything. Since then they've been writing about women only. Save the best for last? I don't know. Big exception is Undercover from '83.

  • Love it!~xo

  • Not many rock songs use oboe :)

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 You're right! In fact, I can't think of another?

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23

Leonerd Nimoy's "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" has an oboe solo

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 - Not many rock songs have an oboe in them because not many rock bands had anyone even remotely like Brian Jones! :)

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 True..., but check out early "Roxy Music", they used it a lot around '73,with their excelent player Andy Mackay.

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23

There ain't no oboe at all, those parts were played by Brian on mellotron.

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 claro aqui brian toco el oboe

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 But no other rock bands had the versatile Brian Jones. And damn I wish he was still around!!

  • @ChinaCatSunflower23 not many rock bands have a Brian Jones :)

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • DANDELIONS DON'T TELL NO LIES, DANDELIONS WILL MAKE YOU CRY!

  • *****

  • Long Live Mick Jagger !!! This is Awesome !

  • Great share Gary thank you

  • I remember this song being played when the Space Shuttle Challenger was launched in 1986 and later exploded. Great song by a great group. Long live Mick Jagger!

  • Hello Joe! My name is Joe too!..You vid matches my my web site scheme at church! if you like to see it, go to google sites dot com and search " The Great Mother Sanctuary" I think you may shiver when you see this!! I posted your video in the "special gust suite"... best wishes......pastor.Joeymars1

  • DANDELION - The Stones singing a "flower power" song. Recorded during the Satanic sessions and sounds like it. Keith liked this tune so much he named his first daughter after it. At first titled 'Fairground'. Another one of those simple tunes.

Keno's ROLLING STONES Web Site !

  • @ukraininoak actually it was recorded earlier, in November 1966,like Ruby Tuesday during the sessions that produced most of Between The Buttons, although We Love You was quite new when it was released

  • The longest lasting band of the 20th century...

  • @TheBacmaster ▬& the most photographed band in the history of the world.

  • @TheBacmaster

I have to disagree. The longest lasting band of last century would be a Cajun band from South Louisiana....The Hackberry Ramblers. Together since the early 1930's, but most of the originals have passed on by now.

  • @gootenslog waooowww it's what i call archeology...

  • @TheBacmaster its not the stones, bee gees have lasted longer

  • @taylorjaybass From Amazon "The Bee Gees are the one of longest running acts in pop music (only the Rolling Stones have a longer career, and many will make an argument out of this). ...

  • @TheBacmaster Look up Golden Earing for bands with longevity, pretty sure they beat them all

  • @taylorjaybass Yeah, but the Stones actually play music, and are not a bunch of castrated disco sellouts

  • @eurydicejones The bee gees are just as good as the stones, im just making the point that the bee gees have been around for other 50yeasr plus they are still around coz there still making music and write for other artist. Plus there going back on tour soon……. should actually listen to the bee gees first few albums before the start talking bullshit.

  • @taylorjaybass Further to TheBacmaster's comment, The Rolling Stones were formed in 1962 and are still perfoming, making a total of 49 yrs. in the business. The Bee Gees formed in1958 but split up in 2003 when Maurice died, and reformed in 2009 which means they have been going a total of 47 yrs.

  • @taylorjaybass what a dumbass. xD

  • @TheBacmaster in pop music, yeah. The Gewandhaus Orchestra was established in the late 1700s. If you get into marching or military bands that's something else again. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is about 150 years old. Jazz bands, man there's quite a few. Sun Ra Arkestra, Count Basie Orch. (still great), Duke Ellington Orch. Folk family bands often go on for generations and intermarry with other such musician bands (in case you're wondering about bands that keep the same lineup for a long time).

  • The Best group of the 60's & still going strong today!! Great song & video Thanks!!

  • ditto these great comments joe!!!

  • Fantastic Song & Vid!!!!...Love The Stones!!!...5*s Thankyou Joe...Anita..:)

  • Absolutely love it! From the Stone's psychedelic era :D

  • Great track and vid, Joe!
