  • That's a FamiTracker tune piece.

  • thats awesome! where did you buy/download/get the vst from? link me?

  • my ears are in heaven!!

  • Can you send me the sheet music for the song? I would love to do a cover of this?

  • How did you get this to work in FL Studio? I am trying and Googling and can't find anything

  • Well 6-8 channels isn't far off the magadrive tbh, you could have 6 FM channels if you didn't use the DAC and then there is always the 3 PSG channels

  • what kind of setting were you using? every time i touch vopm it end up sounding like tinhead.

  • Where do you get this soundchip, and how do you make it go in your electric piano?

    I have a PSRE303

  • This sounds so badly like Golden Axe credits song! O_O

  • Where's the link?

  • Wow it sounds so nostalgic, like a game i have never played...

  • @rosenbraut That's about the best compliment I could get. :)

  • @Essasmusic

Your music inspires me to imagine a game ^^

I wish you could compose me a nice ring tone ^^ for my cellphone that would be pretty unique !

i would maybe draw you something in return ^^

  • @Essasmusic You should be a game music composer! You would do awesome

  • What's the original??

    SOMEONE PLZZZZ PLZ TELL MEH!

  • @sillykittycookie667 No original, just a song of my own, I'm afraid. :)

  • Making music with a sega is just awesome... This is why I made Regression FM soundfont :) Keep up the good work

  • I love this, it sounds like the Snail Maze game from the SEGA Master System V1 BIOS.

  • I actually have to admit that the Sega chip is distinctively more "video gamey" than the Super NES. I guess I've concluded that it's sort of silly to continue and try to compare the two consoles, they're pretty much apples and oranges imo, except for the titles that were on both consoles (MK, Street Fighter, NBA Jam) I think for the most part that the Super NES was much better in that regard.

  • This sound is great=)

  • Your music is very relaxing for me. It takes me back to Saturday mornings as a kid, when everything was exciting, and the world around me felt so safe.

  • @MuggleSnuggles man, the same feeling here. SHIT!

  • Oh.. Great music !

    I love FM symth.

  • Genesis does what Nintendon't. And that's provide kickass Yamaha synth sounds.

  • DUDE, I'VE BEEN WANTING TO USE THIS SOUND ENGINE!!! how do i do it? Plz get back to me about how to get it, compose with it, and stuff PLZ PLZ!!!!

  • Love the drum and base line :D!

  • Wow this is so cool! How do you do this? it seems like fun, and i've been looking for a program capable of doing this :)

  • Hi, there. Very nice song! Loved it! Is it possible to make a MP3 file out of it?

  • VOPM OWNS!!!!

  • is there a program that can make the drum beats as sega genesis DAC sound chip?

  • You can't really make those drum beats with a program because the DAC is just playing back samples.

  • @andyukmonkey is there a program to make beat drums As DAC

  • Anyway, where did you get the patches for VOPM? Or did you create everything?

Because it's damn hard to use, and I can't get patches in OPM format, and all thoose converters are command-line shit (I know, I'm stupid, LOL)

  • would it be possible to somehow take the chips from an 8bit or 16bit console and put them into a synthesizer or keyboard to get these sounds ??????????

  • That's a good question, and I'm not sure. If I want to play in real time, I hook my cheap keyboard up via midi cable and play through FL Studio or Cubase. Other than that, I wouldn't know.

  • @Essasmusic Actually the DX7 is something kinda like that. The YM2612 voices are 100% compatible with the DX7 synth and vice versa (if you don't use the other operators)

  • @Essasmusic I have been searching for it for quite a while now. I still can't believe it doesn't exist. If it does, it's kinda obscure since I haven't seen even a mention of something similar to it. Is there a preset for videogame music? Like, ANY! Like "Golden Axe preset", then you play it on your keyboard hooked up via midi cable and then you can learn and play Golden Axe music live? I don't know if I made myself clear on that one, lol. BTW, AWESOME song. Sounds like a game I've never played!

  • It is possible.

You can do it with LSDJ and a MIDI keyboard....

But you can also make a homebrew synthesiser with using a 8 bit or 16 bit as the sound generator....

  • not to my knowlage.. projects have been made to use the c64 SID chip in a simalar way check out "midibox SID mb-6582" to see what can be done ith old computer chips. the best way to actualy playback your own composed music on a sega megadrive/genesis is to download "MVS_Tracker" learn how to compose with it, make a test rom and put it on a "NEO Myth MD 3in1 flash cart" and tada you can listen back on a megadrive. alternativly you can folow "littlescale" and his progress with his midi megadrive

  • @a280281 i know that it's possible, but i dont know the specific steps and equipment required. you might want to ask 256byteram, he seems to be an expert on it

  • @a280281

    Yes, look at my videos.

  • @a280281 Google YMCK. They have an awesome software synth :D

  • @a280281

Of course, everything's possible, but it would be heck of a job, I think

  • can you provide any presets that sound like sonic?

  • 16-bit Synthpop hahaha

  • Wow! I heard the Sonic 1 and 2 snare drum in it at the end!

  • Essamusic

Can you play any song on this device? id like to hear coldplay's hit song viva la vida or skynyard's song free bird can you please do those 2 in future videos? thanks.

  • You'll probably have to do it yourself

Linux is FREE, with ****ing ***loads of free, full programs of all kinds (Debian alone has well over 20,000 ready to just install and use)

  • my old PS2 could prob run linux but the dvd drive is trashed it wont read anything but a music cd, i was thinking of that and the HDD then adding mp3s to it and turning it into a jukebox but where would I store the OS, on the HDD or the memory card.

  • beautiful.. but most people won't have a clue.....

So much musical instrumentation in such a tiny silicon package encased in epoxy!!! :D

  • i love your vopm music

did you synthesize all the percussion in vopm, or are they external

  • Thank you!

They're all non VOPM samples. I think the best it could do is white noise, as far as drums.

  • i've found you can actually get some decent bass drums and snares with it, but most of the well known genesis soundtracks utilized external samples

  • No kidding? I'll have to try harder, heh.

  • i find it a lot easier to do in tfm tracker

  • hey, wanna send me the VOPM plugin?.

  • @Essasmusic yep... the sample channel ... however fm channel #6 won't be available then.

  • The best original song made this year to conform to Sega Mega Drive chiptune criteria.

    This should have a grammy!

  • i really like this! i was having some trouble with VOPM...

  • Comment removed

  • holy carp!.. yes, the fish..

This plugin is made for YOU :) Sounds great, love it!

  • Thanks, Tommy!

I do have quite the religious carp, come to think of it.

  • Such a great up-beat tune! You're really good with this FM stuff, really makes me want to get into making little tunes like this.

  • Nice song my friend!
