All I run now is Athearn and Life-Like Proto series. I have Athearns from the 1970's that run perfect. Never seen a Bachmann from the 70's still going.
I bought a Brand New Bachmann Spectrum 2-10-2 a few weeks ago. It was DCC on Board. I put it on the rails, gave it power and all it did was make clicking sounds and jerked. Boxed it back up and returned it. Bought a New Spectrum DCC on Board Diesel a few weeks ago. Ran it for 5 minutes and the motor died. I paid $40 for it. It was on Clearance. Bachmann wanted $30 to replace it and I had to pay shipping. I said the heck with it and threw it in the garbage. No more Bachmanns for me!
@Newport1974 i have a Bachmann DCC On-Board 2-8-0 and its motor is acting funny and it also jerks on my track too after about 1 month of owning it so i agree they need to try harder on there locos and some of there smoke units will burn the plastic frame where the smoke unit is,its happened to me a lot of times and after that the locomotives are junk after that
@maxusgyaos Those Little ones like you have are The Worst ones to get. 2-8-0, 0-6-0...etc. Look on Ebay and you will see they Don't sell very good because they have a Bad reputation. I bought the 2-10-2 DCC from Ebay. I paid $55 for it new. They Retail for over $200 and my local hobby store sells them for $195. That thing was Junk right out of the box. Waste of money.
@Newport1974 i hear ya, my local hobby shop has a bunch of bachmann trains that dont sell because they either have motor problems.etc. I looked on ebay today and saw a lot of 2-8-0s,2-6-0s,and a lot of others,i had the UP
#804 from the overland limited set and boy, that train sucked.its motor blew out in 6 mon. or less!
@maxusgyaos Try some Athearn engines. Those are my favorite. I Never had any issues with Athearn. They sell at a decent price on Ebay. Life-Like proto series are also really good. I have about 10 of those. The Proto 1000 is heavier than the 2000 and pulls much better but the 2000's have a little extra detail.
@maxusgyaos Yeah I started with One Athearn and now I have a few. Right now they are my favorite. I'm gonna have to line up All my engines and do some video soon.
@maxusgyaos I might try to do some video late tonight. I had "N" Gauge but I sold them all because I wanted to go with HO. Three months ago I had No HO scale. I have spent over $1,000 in Three Months. I went a little overboard but I haven't even begun. I shop on Ebay and hit up Train Shows. The shows are actually the best place to get the best deals.
@SuperMillerman10 For DC I will use #99, this installations is require frame modification and need to build custom holder for the smoke unit, just FYI.
How much for all that Alex? I got some problems with mine......linkage and such.
