I actually thought the voice acting in this scene in the full game was a bit watered down compared to the demo version. Check out both versions and see which one you think is better!
If one of the red guys lives, you can get a virtually unlimited number of arrows by hiding behind one of the wooden pillars where the purple guards were, peeking out and then ducking back when he shoots.
You've probably found what you needed by now, but I believe .CRF is easily renamed as ZIP. I did something similar for pulling the music out of System Shock 2.
i love the demo lol, cuz they guys in purple have different voices in the full game... it sucks... they should of kept them, the guys in red are fucking awesome, they do the voices soo well
Here's something to think about. The first Thief comes in two flavors, the original release and the later Gold release. I bought Gold at retail back in the day (skipping out on Nocturne, which I played later...I don't regret getting Thief instead).
Anyway, Gold has more levels, and a few levels apparently change a little. I haven't played the regular version, but the extra levels in Thief: Gold are pretty neat, like the Wizard's Tower.
You need to get back into the shadows. I re-recorded this movie about two dozen times, and whenever I stayed out in the light at least the mouthy guy up in the tower would shoot at me. You can dance all about them while they're talking before the fight, of course.
Also, normally only the mouthy guy lives - first guy to die is the "our lady is a saint" guy, then the second guy on the tower, then the lady's second guard. The guy up in the tower is normally the only one left.

know cfgs files? Go there and take the [PK] part out and the enemys will not attack you!!!! They just watch you running around

Guys If you really love Thief, help us by signing this petition to release the game's source code.
The source code would mean a lot:
Thief could be improved, made portable to other OS's, MOD's could be made and a lot more.

what the HELL do you use to open .CRF files? i don't know of any places to find thief 2 tools, and XWE does a BS job of it.

I know. Even now I don't have any good software in the way of mixing or editing, so there's nothing I can do about it.
If I can find a program that doesn't destroy my registry and I can figure out how to use, I'll fix it sometime. But don't hold your breath.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience, I really hate that the voices are so low in this.

I never really played this game I always watched my older brother played it when I was very young. I never seen the first Thief before.
