Thanks for good video. Can I paint over anything e.g. acrylic or oil or objects stuck to canvas?
If I paint this onto a canvas cotton what will happen to fabric? If I place masonite behind the canvas will this be a better way of doing encaustic i.e. a better surface?
This is GREAT. Thank you for the tutorial. I was right. This WASN'T flagged for me by youtube. What the...? I'm Deb on GaryReef's ning by the way. I soooo want to try this.
Wow this is sooo interesting, I've never seen this before!! Can't wait to see part 2. and can I just say I love your hair, it's MAD! I wish my hair was big like that!
Mo...I have used bees wax with a Kitska...like what is used for Ukranian eggs...and I use a cheese grater to get the wax into small enough pieces to fit the tiny container...don't freeze the wax but do this right out of the package when the wax is juat a bit soft like cheese :-). I use the smallest holes but you could use the larger holes to make it go faster.
I had read about the encaustic wax mixture but had never seen it prepared or used. What a great effect you got with the heat gun. Can't wait to see Part 2 :-)
thanks melissa, it really is fun. I am doing 3very large panels at the moment and it is taking a long time to build up the layers but I think they will look cool in the end.
I like you and what you do. Will be viewing more of your videos.
