WiiWare is a awesome online game download service, think of Youtube but insted of watching videos you download (for a price) games made exclusively for the Wii (some) made by popular companies, like Hudson, XGen Studios, and many more, try Nintendo's website for more info.

It's not about Nintendo getting things together, it's the independent developers who make the games. Nintendo getting their things together for wii ware would involve little more than selling a fast transfer hard drive add on so you don't have to slowly transfer things to an SD card whenever you want new content. It could be wireless, though I'm seeing that as being ridiculously expensive for what it's for.
