Any activity that is ecumenical in nature does not promote the true cause of the gospel of Jesus Christ. But with regard false "christian" faith, impersonating as the true faith of Christ, God has already decided and it is his word, the Bible. If anyman confess his sins and ask for forgiveness from a priest, his sins will not be forgiven him simply for the fact that the bible says it is only God Himself who forgive sins.

MagnificentFiend - try going to a course and see what it's about. You have nothing to lose and get usually a great meal. You can voice your opinions or objections but most of all if you are seeking the truth of it all it's worth spending several evenings to see what it's all about. The fact that B G is an evangelical born againer seems somewhat paradoxical. On the one hand I am not sure that many of the things they teach in the SAS are compatible with the New Testament .Jesus was not an expert in close combat and explosives. If you see his TV show "Man Vs Wild", just before he releases his grip from the helicopter to fall into the sea, he does the cross sign that only catholics do. I have no doubt he is a nice guy but unfortunately he is in a false christian faith, not of Christ and God. The Alpha course is inter-denominational in nature - any "christian" can join. But not all "christian faith" is of God.

The Bible claims to be fact. We can know that it is if the Ressurrection can be shown to be true. And there's ample evidence to show that it is. There are a lot of references to Christ outside of the Bible by historians. You'll find them in the Talmud, Josephus' writings, Tacitus writings and Pliny the younger. As for sweating blood. If you burst capillaries in your face and were sweating profusely well then you would actually appear to "sweat blood".

But with regard false "christian" faith, impersonating as the true faith of Christ, God has already decided and it is his word, the Bible. If anyman confess his sins and ask for forgiveness from a priest, his sins will not be forgiven him simply for the fact that the bible says it is only God Himself who forgive sins.

Just stick to the new testament. The teachings are timeless so time+space mean nothing. The purpose of the Bible is to kill off the ego, the carnal mind, the Adamic mind. MagnificentFiend - try going to a course and see what it's about. You have nothing to lose and get usually a great meal. You can voice your opinions or objections but most of all if you are seeking the truth of it all it's worth spending several evenings to see what it's all about. They won't judge or "educate" you in their thinking but it's just a meal and to see if what is being presented makes sense.

The fact that B G is an evangelical born againer seems somewhat paradoxical. On the one hand I am not sure that many of the things they teach in the SAS are compatible with the New Testament .Jesus was not an expert in close combat and explosives. One the other hand the Manichean vision of the world and the dialectic between 'good' and 'evil' that informs military strategies in our era is a reflection of moral and often religious self-righteosuness. I do have great respect for his courage though

If you see his TV show "Man Vs Wild", just before he releases his grip from the helicopter to fall into the sea, he does the cross sign that only catholics do. I have no doubt he is a nice guy but unfortunately he is in a false christian faith, not of Christ and God. The Alpha course is inter-denominational in nature - any "christian" can join. But not all "christian faith" is of God.

Sweet, in the bible, no one will be condemned for something they have yet done but God knows the future and so He knows our what we will do. Hitler for example will murder 12 million people including 6 million Jews. Can God prevent that from happening? religion doesn't save anyone. There is only one Holy Spirit living in those who have repented and trust in the One true Lord Jesus Christ, and there is only one God the Father. There is only One book that God has given usas a foundation of our one common faith and that is the Bible. the bible is God's eternal word. It contains His moral standards. the lie of satan was that you can set yours own standards and you don[t need God. Yes, God sees and knows what happens everywhere and He createdand sustains everything. The Bible claims to be fact. We can know that it is if the Ressurrection can be shown to be true. And there's ample evidence to show that it is. There are a lot of references to Christ outside of the Bible by historians. You'll find them in the Talmud, Josephus' writings, Tacitus writings and Pliny the younger. As for sweating blood. If you burst capillaries in your face and were sweating profusely well then you would actually appear to "sweat blood".

talmud written 200 years after christ period, tacticus 100 years after, pliny wrote 100 years after, josephus wrote 80-100 years after, all hearsay not witnessed, not solid evidence in any way shape or form. the arguement was about whether sweating blood was medically possible (which it's not). not whether bleeding capilaries looks like you are sweating blood.

The god Yahweh as portrayed in the OT is a despicable character. There was no peace, joy, love etc., only fear, authoritarianism, genocide, torture and wrath. This "god" commanded several times the of dashing infants to the ground. If evil is to be defined by the infliction of suffering and death and suffering then Yahweh is the most heinous of monsters and far worse than mythical Satan.
It's a good thing it's all bullshit as I would hate to think a monster like that really did exist.

i don't pass judgment on you. God says in the bible that you are condemned because of sin. Jesus paid your penalty on the cross because that is the only way for you to be saved.
