The fine is doubled here in Texas if it is in a school zone. I got a ticket going 60 in a 20 mph school zone back in the 90s on a motorcycle, on my way to school. I was going 60 in a 30, but slowed down to 35 in school zone. The cop was a total prick and lied on the ticket. My lawyer got me deferred adjudication. Like this there were no kid anywhere in sight. 90% of school zones are BS. I should be school zone 20 mph when children are present, but that makes too much sense.

When I see cops someone get pulled over they have to shutdown their radar and when I saw cops pass by my radar doesn't go off some rare cops do mostly state troopers.

I think school zones are stupid in most cases. Most of them when you go by you never see anyone walking. When you do they are on the sidewalka and not in the road. They will have 3 pm to 4:30 pm. If school lets out at 3:30 it should be 3:25 to 3:45. Having it any longer is just a waste of people's time. Futhermore there are more kids at bus stops than around the school and there is no speed reduction in those areas. Just something to make people feel they are doing something to protect the kids.

Does the V1 warn you about speed cameras or stop light cameras that do not use radar? But it does have the cute arrows. yea. they only detect other laser frequencies nearby. there is nothing that can "detect" the presence of a police officer... except maybe common sense and a trained eye.
That wasn't a "rookie error" on his part. He left the gun on so people like you would slow down as they passed him, thus reducing the likelihood of an accident. This is SOP for most traffic stops.

Actually the 9500i in this case did save me from the ticket. In case you didn't notice the cop left his radar on which gave me an alert and triggered the detector (which is the alert you heard) and as far as what you stated about if the cops were using laser guns I'd have been screwed, this is true except that's not the point of this video...the point is to show how a simple mistake on the police officers side (leaving his radar on) saved my ass regardless if he was using a laser gun or not.
or just don't speed and never get a ticket and never hear that annoying sound

yea, they have Spectre RDD, but radar detectors are legal in all states but washington D.C. and Virginia

yea. they only detect other laser frequencies nearby. there is nothing that can "detect" the presence of a police officer... except maybe common sense and a trained eye.

Maybe he left his radar on (to slow down drivers) after he used lidar to find a customer. But I don't know since I wasn't there.

That wasn't a "rookie error" on his part. He left the gun on so people like you would slow down as they passed him, thus reducing the likelihood of an accident. This is SOP for most traffic stops.

you can get the beltronics sti and mount it in a stealth location like in front of your rearview. nobody can see it and it's undetectable.

@LidarDan15 I remember doing about 85 on the interstate going home on a trip one night and some dipshit passed me doing way faster lol, 10 mins later hes pulled over, I honked the horn, they both looked and I waved at him and laughed and kept on! its obvious the guy had no radar detector!

I know, and I'm sure he was...but the cop was shooting laser...I detected him by him leaving his radar on...It just happened to be that he was already with someone who he'd caught.

Cops can easily Ef you up. Cops use Laser guns instead of Radar and that's when you get fucked. When your detector goes on, it's too late because the cop already got your speed.
You were lucky because the cop was BUSY !!
You need a LASER JAMMER also. I had a radar detector and I got a ticket because the cop pointed at me when it was too late

Actually the 9500i in this case did save me from the ticket. In case you didn't notice the cop left his radar on which gave me an alert and triggered the detector (which is the alert you heard) and as far as what you stated about if the cops were using laser guns I'd have been screwed, this is true except that's not the point of this video...the point is to show how a simple mistake on the police officers side (leaving his radar on) saved my ass regardless if he was using a laser gun or not.

Well if people don't slow down for a school zone they deserve a ticket. Even with my RD I always go the PSL in school zones for the children's sake.
