let me settle the whole up or down thing now. IT IS UPSIDE DOWN! dtm style is meant to be bent upwards. as for the water collecting inside the pipes, the hole is still in a purely vertical plane (pointed straight out), meaning rain wont fall directly into it. usually, a hole at the bottom of the bend will let out any that builds up, though. this also means it is NOT a turndown. the end
i got an 89 dodge shadow es turbo and i have an exuast leak and it sounds better then that thing u got the wrong muffler for a turbo u should get a cherry bomb for the middle and a cannon for the end it makes it sound so fucking sick dude
the exhaust gets so hot and stuff gets blown out so fast out of it that it doesn't matter that its pointed up. If you store the car I guess its better for it to be faced down but doesn't matter if you drive the car every day.
@viktord1 not everyone drives long enough for water vapor to evaporate, if you drive for less than 10 minutes the muffler doesn't get hot enough, which is why i always let my engine run for 15 minutes before i shut it off since i don't like my exhausts rusting out
@TheTrollHuntard i see you poit , but a car is an investment, besides dont have to spent that much money, they can be found used at muffler shops, i once got a pair of flowmasters for my truck for free just for towing a car out of a ditch. Can also be found in Craiglist , or just ask friends around, sometimes people have them in some wrecked cars, just give em $50 and hack em off with a saw. Gotta learn to to deal and bargain. Peace out my friend.
How is it upside down? Ever heard of turndowns? People who aren't ricers have their exhausts pointed down, ricers point them up, why I couldn't tell you.
@snakesonaplane2 dtm is meant to be up its from german touring cars or something like that i do believe. and the opening is still directly out anyway, so its not a turndown
that's stupid, so when you turn off the car water can't run out of the muffler so it collects inside and rusts it, i'd flip it upside down too, makes more sense
@nic2kol4u thats not a dundance i own a shadow and happen to know that doge/chrysler makes the spirit and the shadow, shadow being the sport model, and plymouth makes the sundance and duster, duster being the sport model, neither the sundance nor the spirit come with the spoilers, and yess all 4 of those models are near identical...
The muffler was $20 off ebay, and I installed it myself. All I got was a reduscer and muffler clamps. You could have a muffler shop weld it in for like $45-$100 depending on if anything custom needs to be done.
Go on ebay, and search "DTM Exhaust". There is several sellers. I forgot who i bought mine from but it came in like a week and had a huge dent in it that i had to pop out. lol.
I think the really impressive exhaust system probably cost more than the car. People laugh at kids in these things. Fast is one thing, annoying sound in a cheap car is another.

snakesonaplane2 1 year ago
@snakesonaplane2 thanks for not fighting the truth lol, but yeah its up to the driver how they want to install it, its just meant to be upwards

It's upside down because egay "DTM" exhausts point up, not down. And this would be considered rice by almost anyone.
