Dude you can some lesson to estaco, you are smarter then the whole company .

They never advertise in their site that this reader contains an English-English dictionary !

thanks a lot the estaco company is just advertising that the gadget can translate from English to other foreign English but never talk about English English dictionary function

@doukkali125 Good point. I'll contact them and see that they add it since it really is a big deal! I legit use it all the time while reading. The jetBook generally has a lot more functions AND it supports virtually every format so it's difficult to get all the points on it in a description, i tried my best with this video :)

Thanks for taking the time. I got the JBL for my birthday. Can you download the e-books free from the public library? From the library site, the ebooks open to the Adobe Digital reader on my laptop. But they don't transfer/upload to the JBL. Any suggestions?

I wish it came with rechargeable lithium ion battery.

how do you get the ebooks into it??? just with the usb cable?? can I read all of the ebooks in pdf and doc format that I have in my computer on the jetbook?? what difference does it have with the amazon kindle?? Regards..

Very informative video. I have a question, I have had an ebookman for years from Ectaco and I cannot load books from my laptop because my laptop has vista and they have no compatable software. Does the jetbook work with vista?

@brodydakota07 Yup, jetBook does work with Vista and Windows 7 - it opens up as an external storage device so you can make/edit your own files and folders with no software necessary.

very good review. can you zoom in on the pictures? and when u zoom in the rtf file u mentioned does the pictures resize as well. is it possible to scroll side to side when the picture is zoomed in? Thanks in advance..

@wileysloth84 You got it. All pictures can be zoomed in on and moved, even PDF's, and there are 6 different font sizes from Small to HUGE as well.

Hy my question is Can you read books with different characters such as Hungarian on this and of yes are there any steps in maybe useing a converter of some shorts or you just put the book on it and read it so shortly is automatic or u got to change setting of the file?

@sppatrik : Yup, you can basically read any language book in PDF format. Ectaco usually comes out with language updates for more formats pretty often too.

Thanks for the review! It helped my decision.

I just bought mine direct from Ectaco. Came with updated firmware. No screen flash like Sony or Kindle. New firmware. I installed a sandisk 8 Gb card. Drm is still an issue. they are working on firmware.

You can buy .Lit files (Microsft ereader), and strip DRM. Use Calibre to convert format to epub, and send it to your reader.

Anybody have any experience doing a firmware update on one of these ? Sounds like more formats are supported on the more recent versions.

The firmware updates are actually easy. All you do is transfer the update to an SD card, plug it into the jetBook and then press a button sequence to load it up. Real fast and they usually contain new format support, language support and other interesting additions.

yup, in PDF you can read anything in any language which is cool too. there are 10 additional formats supported alongside PDF as of now

I also wanted to see how the dictionary looked, but I guess the cameraman was kind of a thumb fetichist, showing his symptom at that particular moment. Besides that, great review, the closeups of the screen at high quality will definitely sell some jetbooks. Well, that and the price at newegg, ha! I bought it, I'm just waiting for it and watching these new english reviews again and again, u know, to deal with anxiety.
