i dont get it how come when someone has one hamster they have a huge cage but when they have four or two hamsters then they have a normal or small sized cage besides me i have one dwarf hamster and i have a normal sized cage

Well for me, I just like bigger cages. I know they are more of a pain to clean, but then the hamster has more room to run and it's fun watching him run all around the cages and tubes.

DUDE that thing is insane like how much money did u spend on it and why u made so big now u have like to clean more poop meaning u have to clean every tube and cage and each cage takes u about 5 minutes plus the tubes will take about 3 min. so u will like half an hour every 3-5 days or it wil stink

@shadowmark1000 Well it cost a little over $300 for all the cages and tubes, so it wasn't too bad. I ended up giving the cages and tubes away to family and friends. I'm done with hamsters and didn't want the stuff just lying around. It was just too time consuming cleaning all those cages and took up too much space.

@XkittyX9110 How many hamsters did they have in those 11 years, because they didn't have the same one for 11 years. The oldest hamster ever recorded in the Guiness Book was only 7. I love hamsters, but now I'm getting too old, so I gave my cages away and have a Sulcata Tortoise I take care of.

@iRJoanne Syrian hamsters, like the one I have are solitary animals. They will not get lonely being by themselves. If you get a Russian Dwarf they are sociable and you should have a second one.

@iRJoanne Teddy Bear hamsters are Syrian, so if you want more than 1, you better watch it. I had 2 golden hamsters which were syrian, they were male and female and they got along great. Never had one fight between them and at one point with all the babies they made, they had over 65. Then years later I got another male and female golden hamster and they would constantly fight. We had to separate them permanently. It just depends on their personality. Good luck with whatever your choice is.

@fartboy61999 What I did was thoroughly cleaned one cage each week and took the other ones and cleaned up the poop. It made it easier doing that because it was only 1 hamster.

No they don't stink as long as you keep their cage cleaned regularly. They are very good pets if you live in an apartment or have kids.

Yeah it takes a long time to clean, but I just keep eadding every month because when she has the same house for awhile, she gets bored and finds a way to open the door. When I add tubes or a cage every month, she seems happy and content and doesn't try to escape.

I don't know how she can be bored, but she is always trying to exscape when I go a few weeks without adding anything. I just added another 10 tubes and a new cage since this was filmed. Next month I'm adding my 5th cage, but I will only add like 4 or 5 tubes to that one.
