The Rickenbacker 12 string only comes alive when technique, tone and musicianship merge. This musician has soul which is very lacking these days in todays music scene. This guy is one of the best I've ever heard. Capos,tabs,amp setting,effects etc. doesnt matter. It's what in the hands that matter.Give the same guitar that he's using to someone and see how many weekend warriors and hacks can come close.

Its just a clean 12 string ricky, those extra strings make a huge difference to the sound at the expense of limiting the instrument to rythym duties.

Daniel, I have a modern Rick 360/6, and I just bought a 1967 Rick 366/12 "convertible." Would you mind if I e-mailed you a question or two about how you get such nice chime from your Rickenbackers?

To get more chime from your convertible, pick up a compressor like a Janglebox or a Robert Keeley. Good luck trying to play it as a 6, those things are tricky.

don´t take winds off!! just buy vintage-toaster pick-ups. then you´ll get the sound.

Too late: Gary Brawer has the 360/6 and is taking winds off the modern pick-ups. Better to try to reuse than buy more stuff ;-)

Here in North America, it's ridiculously difficult to find the Vintage 'Toaster' pickups...especially the 7.4K toasters as the new 'vintage' toasters from Rickenbacker are 12K, I believe.

So, you just about have to purchase a used guitar with them (at a premium) or order one from the manufacturer....then wait a year or two...yikes!

If you have a good source for the Toaster Pickups....please share it ! :-)
