you can always tell when a band is from boston. and not even the scenery or sound, it's the mannerisms of the people. if i turned the sound off, i'd swear that i'm watching members of j geils band or the fools right now.
great video great show in kc at the Midland got my weed confabd i was the first to spark a joint that night they took mine an then let everyone else smoke! an it was first class concert weed i'd been saving! 80's were so cool and free!too bad our kids will never know how great freedom was now theyr'e all consumed with facebook need to get out and party and live!
I went to Concord High with Dan Zanes. Was just typing classmate names into Google for fun and was shocked to find he was famous! He was pretty funny, introduced me to Little Feat via the band t-shirts he used to wear.
Ahh the 80's in Boston WBCN V66 when Boston was a rockin town. This tune brings back memories like partying all day in the parking lot off Northern ave waiting for the BCN fireworks.
These were not only a cool sounding band, but a great bunch of guys and crazy partiers. They came to my college back in '87 and I worked the lights for the show. parties with them and played a cool game or stoned frizbie on the back lawn. they kept bringing me booze while i was doing the lights for the headliners, The Smithereens. Dan Zanes was a funny dude.
Saw them in Worcester, MA, at some dive, packed in like sardines. They rocked the house ("Xanada Do" opened). One of my favorite live shows, ever, and I've seen a lot of shows...
Had a cool conversation about rock n roll with Dan Zanes at the Paradise circa 1990. I had this LP, very good stuff. How'd the get to shoot this on the Mass Ave bridge?
Had a cool conversation about rock n roll with Dan Zanes at the Paradise circa 1990. I had this LP, very good stuff. How'd the get to shoot this on the Mass Ave bridge?
I bought this back in early 1986 on vinyl!!! (and some are probably saying "what the f**k is vinyl?") I'm surprised these guys didn't get more fame because they sure as heck deserved it!!! I love the "twang" of an electric guitar that hasn't been overloaded with distortion boxes. Does anybody know what became of them? If so, please message me and let me know. Thanks!!!
@PlumberDave65, you speak the truth. I grew up in NH, and all of these bands--including Del Fuegos--were missed big time. What a tragedy! Wanna sell your vynyl? ;-) I had all this stuff, but the ex wife from "back when" stole it.
@dglsl81 Unfortunately it disappeared a long time ago. Probably the victim of a yard sale when I moved to New Mexico for a few years. Thank You for writing though. If I do run across any vinyl in Cali. I'll let you know for sure!
i was runnin wild in cantone's.i am surprised i did' get barred from there.went by the street name BALOUCHY.even painted on park street station wall.those days were wild.
Great song....they kick butt, which is why it amazes me I never heard of them before. I only found them now because my son has 3 of Dan's Kids albums which we all enjoy alot. I had no idea he had a previous career as a real rocker. Thanks once again to Youtube.
Nice job Woody! The drummer, Brent Giessmann, is originally from the Embarrassment. A much more influential, and original punk band from Wichita, KS.
Its all good : the music, the video, city off Boston at night. And I will second the emotion one man said "you're never to old to rock and roll----Amen
I saw this video and hadn't thought of the Del Fuegos in years. And I could remember the names of all the members of the band, but I can't remember what I ate for lunch yesterday. Why is that?
Zen-simple, smart, sweatily eloquent rock & roll, drives like a hammer! Super track - eats little children for breakfast!!!! Boston looks great in this video, too. Thank you for posting it, yakidk. (And loudmusic, we're never too old to rock & roll. Never.)
Yes you are right they mostly play old music, I guess that's why they call it classic rock. But to answer your question, they were playing "Chicken Foot" Oh well I know you were just having fun with me. OK I am OLD. But you did listen to the Del Fuegos so you must know something about old rock too!
@beatcat22 Angelo Petraglia is the one who helped make this sound & there is still good music out there! Angelo Petraglia works with Kings of Leon and they are todays best sound,in my opinion! IF U have'nt heard them u should! KOL have not really exploded here in the U.S. yet but they are being called this era's Beatles in Europe & I agree! They are even better in concert! The wife and I drove 15 hrs to see them and we are driving 20 hrs to see them at Red Rocks! check out my videos of them!
@beatcat22 Negro gansta rap.. dirt cheap to make, blacks spend like crazy on it (poor people right) so LOTS of profit... pure ans simple like rappers themselves
i love the song and the group but really the direction was horrible. Now that was back in at the beginnings of videos but it would have been nice just to see the Boston skyline behind them while they played
Regardless they were a really good band from New England....and yes comparing Pittsburgh to Boston is like comparing a twinkie to surf and turf...those connecticut 80's.....
I work at a toy store and we play a lot of Dan Zanes albums, that's how I found about the Del Fuegos. I just looked them up on YouTube on a whim, really.
