Large area of roof around hole looks sunk it, as if there's no support underneath. Perhaps the plywood under the area burned away and heat from the fire caused the shingles on the roof to melt inward, causing the hole.
i think it could be a satellite from space that was old and fell back to earth and what didn't burn up in re entry it a house and then the fire melted what was left its very possible

Could have been some sort of asteroid or comet. Maybe exploded from super heating through friction and the reason nothing is found is because it would have evaporated / burned up in the fire?
@Cypern I used to be a firefighter and I agree, it's a ventillation hole to reduce heat and smoke inside the building so firefighters can go inside safely, notice how it's between the roof trusses so the roof wont be weakened. Usually they're bigger but by the look of the house they probably changed strategies. Someone else mentioned the cement was on fire. That's flammable materials (rubber, plastic, gas) from the car. Also houses burn at different speeds depending on the materials & cause
Probably a Comet made mostly of Ice. Although made of mostly ice the friction of impact could have easily caused the house to catch fire which was the main cause of damage. There would be nothing left of the icy comet afterwards as it would have melted away with the fire.

As a fire fighter of 11 yrs, I never had a fire which also included 2 cars in the driveway seperate from the fire itself. The second house could have been exposed to the original house. As for the hole, could have been anything. Its the two cars in the driveway chared that has me baffled.

They took the garage boards/ car/ meteor/ etc. and put it in the museum. It was so cool.
