I'm 12 and also a Vegitarian...and these are all the reasons why i am...people at my school call me freak because i dont eat dairy products or meat...its really hard when ur a kid!

@EzzieCore I agree completely. I made this quite a while ago and I can assure you I'm a lot wiser now. I think I might have to make a new reasons video actually. But yes, it's true that it is possible to get meat from sources that are more humane. Only thing is it's not all that easy to find companies that are as ethical as possible and most of the times I was served meat was at large BBQs and social gatherings and I'm pretty sure they went for the cheapest meat they could buy.

You can't understand how giving an acre of crop yield to a n animal to eventually produce a lb of meat is wasteful? How much does an acre of land and water for it cost you? I rather give those bushels of food and 10,000 gallons of water to a PERSON Most of land use to raise crops for farm animals is in other countries, and they are in dire need of food themselves! I have been vegetarian for almost two years now. The thought of consuming flesh hit and sickened me, it still does. I'm in a family full of meateaters and yes, i'd like if they didn't eat meat, but it's their choice and i guess i understand that. I really find it annoying how alot of meateaters automatically say bad things towards me when they find out i'm a vegetarian.. it's really annoying. I get badmouthed because I respect the live of animals.. people can be so disrespectful and pathetic.
Yeah I live with meat eaters too but I'm very glad they respect my choice and let me be vegetarian. People also have a go at me for being vegetarian. You do realise that nature is not a fluffy nice cuddly thing don't you? It's a fight for survival and the loser ends up inside another animal. Do you think a polar bear would actually care about your feelings if it was tearing you apart? lol dairy cows have a long life pigs are born in big pens that allow the mothers to nurture the piglets. pigs need to role in the own crap because they can not swet and must stay cool. if you have ever worked with pig you would see they are NOT smart. anyway you should go work on a farm and you will see how wrong you are.
Oh please. Battery Farms (which supply most meat used in food) keep there animals in cages so that they can't even turn around. Oh and how the hell would you know how smart a pig is. Just because they don't act or communicate in the same way we do doesn't mean they're not smart. Granted I don't work on a farm but I really don't think that would change anything anyway.
if you have not worked on a farm then you dont know how pigs react. before i ever worked with pigs i thought they were smart to. then i tried to move them from one barn to another. anyway im going to stop talking bout this because im never going to turn you back and you will never ever turn me. but i would like you to know that pigs never go thought any pain when they die. they use gas to make sure of that. i have seen the kill floor before.
OK fine and fair enough pigs don't always go through pain when they die. But in Australia (which is where I live) most meat comes from farms that treat their animals horribly. I'm not trying to turn you because it's completely your choice what you do.

I was reading the comments you've recieved and I have to disagree with something you said. Not being mean, just making a point of my own opinion. :) You say: "pigs don't always go through pain when they die" how can we be sure of this? It may not always be phsyical pain, but surely emotional pain. Pigs are intelligent and I'm very well sure that they understand what is going on and can feel the emotional pain which we would if we were slaughtered in the ways which they are.

Savour the fact that your on the top of the food chain and can choose wat to eat because if you were any lower down you'd see animals wouldnt show any mercy to us.
To animals the aim of life it to continue the species. Believe it or not but thats also our inbuilt aim of life.
Humans just have all this emotional stuff but strip it bear and you'll see its the circle of life.

Yeah I get where your coming from and I did take that into consideration when becoming a vegetarian and your right, but the reality of it is that we are at the top of the food chain and we have a chance to live a life with out taking a life, and I'm very thankful for that and I think it's a gift we should use.

I eat meat only because my body needs it to survive thanks to evolving from meat eating animals. But one thing I hate about the world and our place in it is that humans have tried to take control of the world and of nature.
We lock the animals up in cages and farm the land because thats easier for us.

You can't understand how giving an acre of crop yield to a n animal to eventually produce a lb of meat is wasteful? How much does an acre of land and water for it cost you? I rather give those bushels of food and 10,000 gallons of water to a PERSON Most of land use to raise crops for farm animals is in other countries, and they are in dire need of food themselves! I at least can spell "stupid". You clearly hate women as well as animals too.

I have been vegetarian for almost two years now. The thought of consuming flesh hit and sickened me, it still does. I'm in a family full of meateaters and yes, i'd like if they didn't eat meat, but it's their choice and i guess i understand that. I really find it annoying how alot of meateaters automatically say bad things towards me when they find out i'm a vegetarian.. it's really annoying. I get badmouthed because I respect the live of animals.. people can be so disrespectful and pathetic.

Yeah I live with meat eaters too but I'm very glad they respect my choice and let me be vegetarian. People also have a go at me for being vegetarian. It annoys me because I never tell them eating meat is stupid (even though I think it) so why do they tell me being vegetarian is stupid. But most of the time it's just people making dumb jokes so I just laugh it off. :) thanks for the comment

You do realise that nature is not a fluffy nice cuddly thing don't you? It's a fight for survival and the loser ends up inside another animal. Do you think a polar bear would actually care about your feelings if it was tearing you apart? No, which is why I don't feel guilty when I'm wolfing down a nice steak or shooting squirrels from my bedroom window.

and a polar bear would only hurt someone in self defense. They generally stay away from people.

lol dairy cows have a long life pigs are born in big pens that allow the mothers to nurture the piglets. pigs need to role in the own crap because they can not swet and must stay cool. if you have ever worked with pig you would see they are NOT smart. anyway you should go work on a farm and you will see how wrong you are.

Oh please. Battery Farms (which supply most meat used in food) keep there animals in cages so that they can't even turn around. Oh and how the hell would you know how smart a pig is. Just because they don't act or communicate in the same way we do doesn't mean they're not smart. Granted I don't work on a farm but I really don't think that would change anything anyway.

if you have not worked on a farm then you dont know how pigs react. before i ever worked with pigs i thought they were smart to. then i tried to move them from one barn to another. anyway im going to stop talking bout this because im never going to turn you back and you will never ever turn me. but i would like you to know that pigs never go thought any pain when they die. they use gas to make sure of that. i have seen the kill floor before.

OK fine and fair enough pigs don't always go through pain when they die. But in Australia (which is where I live) most meat comes from farms that treat their animals horribly. I'm not trying to turn you because it's completely your choice what you do.

I was reading the comments you've recieved and I have to disagree with something you said. Not being mean, just making a point of my own opinion. :) You say: "pigs don't always go through pain when they die" how can we be sure of this? It may not always be phsyical pain, but surely emotional pain. Pigs are intelligent and I'm very well sure that they understand what is going on and can feel the emotional pain which we would if we were slaughtered in the ways which they are.

Savour the fact that your on the top of the food chain and can choose wat to eat because if you were any lower down you'd see animals wouldnt show any mercy to us.
To animals the aim of life it to continue the species. Believe it or not but thats also our inbuilt aim of life.
Humans just have all this emotional stuff but strip it bear and you'll see its the circle of life.
However I don't agree with animal cruelty or any of this human supremacy junk.
Live with nature, not live from it!

Yeah I get where your coming from and I did take that into consideration when becoming a vegetarian and your right, but the reality of it is that we are at the top of the food chain and we have a chance to live a life with out taking a life, and I'm very thankful for that and I think it's a gift we should use.

I eat meat only because my body needs it to survive thanks to evolving from meat eating animals. But one thing I hate about the world and our place in it is that humans have tried to take control of the world and of nature.
We lock the animals up in cages and farm the land because thats easier for us.

There's nothing wrong with eating free range stuff. I have no problem with that. I personally don't like the thought of killing animals at all, but that's just my opinion. But as long as your doing something to stop cruelty that's good.
