I rented the movie from a mom and pop shop, and while it had some good parts, the studio really messed it up; annoying voices, annoying music scores, and a weird lighting style. If Sam Raimi had made it the way he wanted to, it would've been better.

Forgot about this film up until last week. The whiny noises the pest controller makes still intensely annoy me, those guys are creepy bastards.  I remember the end credits and that 30's style song which I loved :) he film was, well I think I liked it, it just made me feel uneasy more than anything.

I remember watching this movie as a rental soon after it came out. My friends and I thought it was the funniest thing we'd ever seen, and anxiously awaited Raimi's next effort. It's incredible to think that Sam was disappointed that it didn't come out the way he wanted!

The Brion James & Paul Smith combo is definitely the best thing about this movie. Their cartoon voiceovers are incredibly weird.

Crimewave was the shit! I still have the dub on VHS. It was hilarious when Bruce Campbell in the night club and he pointed to the woman, and it made gun sounds.

yup. the only thing wrong with it is they really shouldnt have turned down Bruce for the lead. IMO he can do no wrong. me and my younger brother spent many happy childhood days growling at each other a la Paul L smith..."lady, you aint seen nothin!"

I do think it's unfair they dicked Bruce out of the lead, but wasn't he just perfect as Renaldo the Heel? I think it was kind of a blessing he got that role instead cause he nailed it :)
