  • beautyfull songs

  • Perfection<3

  • AWESOME

  • @immortelle3 I'm sorry, but, have you actually listened to this song ? Because if you did, you'd have noticed this is definitely not meant to be sung by some nymphet with a crystal clear voice.

Just listen to the emotions Bonnie Tyler puts in this. Listen to the lyrics. Listen to the message of this song. Now how can you say that these lyrics weren't waiting for a rough voice, one which has seen life and went through trouble numerous times such as Tyler's to sing them ?

  • @ChimiBunny Don't blame those people, being exposed to large amounts of what passes for music (not only "these days", but for quite some time) with lyrics that could be easily replaced with "Allooyah! Alloyah!" without anyone noticing much change in the "message" does that to you.

  • @ChimiBunny

Indeed you are 100% correct.. it is a song about reflection on youth.. not some light-fluffy bimboesque ditty

  • я в шоке! класс!

  • @SlaventiyUA czemu ty szoku

  • O SILVIO SANTOS LAA. LA LA LA LAA LA LAA.

  • An irony is that Bonnie's real name was Hopkins but she changed it because some one else with the same surname was around at the time !

  • Iorny Bonnie's real surname was Hopkins

  • БРАВО!

  • Hey nice one. Never heard this version. Like it though thanks.

  • NismSteroid ? Polen

  • @dyrut7 i'll second that?

  • yarrramı ye yarrramı ye fenerrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I grew up with the Mary Hopkins version, but this one is great too. Now that someone has actually mentioned it, the Russian folk origins are blatantly obvious. I could always hear it but never made the connection. Now I really feel like Homer Simpson having a 'DOH!' moment.

  • This is a russian song. But i like also the version of mary hopkins

  • да с песней той, что вдаль летит звеня... давай Бонни...за Россию!

  • Great! I wish she had more great songs. In my opinion it's among the best voices, but only few really good songs, that would suit her.

  • I love her style :x :x :x

  • @hhaquynh Her style is indeed great and unique! I saw her perform in Connecticut, USA 2 years ago and she still sounded great at 58!!

  • listening to this song, I always remember my dearest friend, all our moments... especially from High School ;))) Yeah... those were the days! ;) We were so young and ...brave!!!

  • Wow...I'm impressed Bonnie....great version....voice is PERFECT for this old classic!!!

  • Would it kill you to use proper grammar and spelling?

  • She has that raspy voice, like Marianne Faithful, love it

  • at 0:59 she almost forgot the outro of the first verse :).

good voice, but I think not the best choice for such melodically songs

  • she's my favorite singer.. bravo bonnie tyler

  • she sings very good

  • Oh memories, one of my mothers fav song she used to sing to me as a child early 60's...thx

  • No... Paul definately didn't write this song

  • "Those Were the Days" was released on 30 August 1968. It was Mary Hopkin's debut single. It is credited to Gene Raskin, who put English lyrics to the Russian song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ("Дорогой длинною"), written by Boris Fomin (1900-1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevskii. It deals with reminiscence upon youth and romantic idealism. The first known recording of the song was by Alexander Vertinsky in the 1920's. (Wikipedia)

Do less thinking and search the net instead;-)

  • OK smart ass,I thought it was mccartney, big deal

  • Yaeh, perhaps you messed with thing, that this was first song _produced_ by Sir Paul and released as catalog number Apple no.2.

    I really enjoy this release.

  • thank you

  • @love48joy Do you know where was this broadcasted ?

  • I love it when she said "dahnce"

  • She try to say "takk"

    "Thank you" in Norwegian

  • holy christ it's Paula White....

  • haha this is a song you start to sing at night after a loooot of alcohol xD Or for carnival...

  • good, btw when was it on nrk 1??

  • I heard 'Once upon a time I was a tavern' on the first listening..

Anyway, Bonnie Tyler's voice is either too rough or too high for this song.

  • a música do Silvio Santos!! quem será q plageou quem ai? hehehehehehe

  • Music by russian composer Boris Fomin.

This song was written in 1925, first russian lyrics were by soviet poet Grigory Greedow, who died in the WW2 later.

  • Ahh I was going to say it sounds more like gypsy music but now I see why..

  • Well, dissenting from some, I dare say this is a good rendition, and I love her hoarse, sensual voice!

  • Funny

It is a song written for male singers, and yet so many outstandins female voices sang it.

  • her voice goes better with this old Russian song than that of mary hopkin´s. I´ think I´ll get the vodka out now A Toast to you Bonnie

  • leningrad cowboys outstanding

  • This is the version of this song!! Bonnie is the best!

  • i think mary hopkin sings it better than dolly and bonnie.

  • This version is sad and morose, but not as sad as Mary Hopkin's F-sharp minor version.

  • Aaaah that voice! I remember, one New Year Eve, I was about 8 or 10 years old and watching her Total Eclipse Live in our local TV. Since that time I fell in love with her and stil !! Thank u Bonnie..

Une voix unique, une voix originale, la voix de Bonnie TYLER! Tu es sublime.. BRAVO!

  • When I first met my wife we use to dance to this song in the disco's . Then one day I came home from work and found a note from her saying she was going away with my best mate Dave and our marrage was over . I was absolutely gutted .You would have thought after 20 years I would have got over it but I haven't , I still miss Dave as much now as I did then . Great mate and drinking buddy ;-)

  • Avec mon compliments. Je suis d'accord (I do not speak French, though I learned that at school some 40 years ago, and I loved that). Enfin, Bonnie Tyler is wonderful in this song.

  • She sings it the best.

  • I remember this song being sung by Mary Hopkins,I was a young lad at the time and had a crush on her-Whoops!! I've just given away my age

  • "I've just given away my age"

The "1940" part of your username wasn't a sufficient hint? ;)

  • My Bonnie(real name: Gaynor Hopkins) will be forever in my heart, she's my queen.

  • Yes...She's in my heart too and she'll belong to this place for ever. She's my queen, she's the queen of rock and the queen of universe.

  • Where did you see her in concert? Please, tell me -, I do remember 1995 in ICC Berlin. She was fantastic.

  • :O! I don't think she deteriorated! I think her voice gets better with age. Trust me, I just saw her in concert a couple of months ago. She just has more control over it than she used to it. You'll notice that when she wants to she adds a little bit more of a husky sound. She says her voice has matured and gotten stronger over the years & I think she's right!

  • I agree....there are only a handful of singers that have such unique sound and she is one of them. And she still looks hot!

  • great, awesome, super, cool!!

marfa, misto, super tare, cool rau.. si asa mai departe

  • I loved bonnie in her prime, but seeing how much she deterioted makes me sad :-(

    Same with Nana Mouskouri

  • WHAT??? Tell me that you're just kidding, or something, please. I think she's just fantastic!!!!!!

  • I don't think she's so bad anymore, you wanna see deteriorated, look at mick jaggar, but he wasn't so good to begin with........

  • I don't think she's terrible now, but she was so much better in her prime!

  • You are crazy!!!Have you seen bonnie live lately?!!??You should...then you will see that she is just as god,NO better, than she has ever been. She is just getting better and better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    we'ld give a life we'ld choose, we'ld take the life we'ld choose,

For we were young and sure to have our way, Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha, Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha, Wha Wha Wha Wha, Wha Wha Wha Wha Wha Whaaa...

  • DON'T EVEN TALK ABOUT BONNIE THAT WAY. Her voice was and still is ever incredible! It's husky and she is blessed to have something so powerful. She sounds and looks beautiful. No, you don't have to agree, but you don't have to verbally insult her either. She is my and many other's favorite singer. Show some respect!
